Helicopter parenting delays or extends the formative years; weaker/dependant people (younglings) lean into the collective more; digital influencer culture promotes virtue signaling as a group behavior.

Before the building up of a digital persona, a lot of lefties would turn to the right at the first paycheck and none would be the wiser. It was the natural course of life (IMAGINE become more conservative as you get older...). Now the social media culture has them invested in such a left-wing position that their lives and images are built around it (friends and acquaintances) and the cost of changing gears goes up.

So people that should be taking the pill are facing ever deeper existential crises, to a point where they downgrade themselves into NPCs. And some young people are turning conservative much younger too.

It goes to show how stupid this generation is.

Being the specialest snowflake in the bunch, they have to make a statement about anything instantaneously; and to sustain the façade of knowledge and activism they must pass it forward. I dub it the "influencer culture", where people working to generate big impact can't also have the time to work on not being stupid as a turd. As a result, what comes through via the "influencer culture" is the worst quality of information.

How many stupid shits do you actually need to fool to start the thing rolling? That is just an incredible computation/maths/social problem.

The greatest shame to tarnish the Economics Nobel prize is not listing Sowell among its recipients.

Actually 45% is ridiculously high, since there are SEVERAL (3+) candidacies.

Even a 30% approval would probably be high enough.

Venezuelan shithole dictator Maduro did it first.

It is the planting of "archival" footage to rewrite history.

No, it was built to get a steady and controlled flow of water downstream to increase farmable land (by turning intermitent flooded plains into regular land with access to water). Big rains this year made the dam open all its (emergency discharge) spillways and flooded everything downstream to prevent collapsing.

It means that lots of food were lost and prices of food are gonna shoot right up, combined with some countries financial relief instruments. Domestic prices in some countries already feeling the hit.

Mateus is the "most portuguese/spanish friendly" version of Matthew, as in the apostle's name (it is John's book though that has the famous wine story).

Can't say I know any of those brands, but the grandma sure makes a compelling case.

So 7% genocide? Then the friendly press factor and we get to... 35% genocide?

Considering Chyna, actual fucking great fucking number. Only 50% genocide.

That is interesting. Is it adjusted for inflation? What was the recorded inflation rate under Trump, 0.5% p.a.?

Anyways MEDIAN income growth is a much stronger indicator of the general health of households financials than the AVERAGE income growth.

If Bezos's income shoots a thousandfold in a day and nobody else's income changes, the MEDIAN income of the group DOES NOT CHANGE AT ALL.

Even his neighborhood MEDIAN income wouldn't change a dollar in that scenario (medians, unlike averages, are resistant to being skewed by the bottom or specially the top of the groups).

Some good news.

It is NOT law, which is a product of the legislative process.

Bear in mind, though, that not every expected behavior that IS ENFORCEABLE and REQUIRED is necessarily law (or even written). Traditions also have a normative value.

Can't really say what your luck of the draw judge will think about the merit/necessity of each case.

I think you left our the part where the cops who stay at terrible wages and enjoy the power trip will organize themselves into a criminal gang and extort people just like the mafia. Councilmen and councilwomen included.
