What I found that kind of works is I simply refuse to share on my own volition anything with my liberal group of friends. Whenever a minor discussion arises and I happen to have some information on it, I dispense the pill right away in few messages and unapologetic language "here is what happened ..." and "here is what will happen next ..." and 10 days in it all happens.
I don't open up to "what do you guys think" or whatever. It's even better if they all reach a wrong understanding among themselves, just to be collectively mistaken later. They may think me obnoxious, but getting shit right ahead of time and silently reminding them that they are not informed feels great. Some of them reach me in private with further questioning and my approach softens a bit. I'd rather they think me the arrogant-always-right guy than anything else.
Being better informed (hence the crucial role of .win) is THE BEST THING on my experience to grind them out (and look like a motherfucking oracle) and then not even gloating on them for being wrong. Just a "yeah whatever you do you on your fantasy little world" attitude. I don't think we should really focus on the "seduction aspect" of turning people's minds. I don't think it works unless they are really younger/in a formative phase of their intellect and see you as a righteous source of knowledge (likely NOT to apply to same-age acquaintances, specially "college educated liberals" who know everything). It may be that optimal strategies should vary according to how gone to the left the people are and your level of intimacy with them. But again, I don't believe in people actually changing their minds and holding public debate -- they are so much invested into a belief or party that walking away assumes a high social cost (and psychological as well). May be easier to turn a Lakers into a Bulls fan. But if you show them their team consistently missing the shots they can drop the sport altogether -- because it is more socially acceptable to distance oneself from political engagement than changing teams.

There are 3 DIFFERENT QUESTIONS about climate change. The first one is "is it happening?" to which the "science" is meh at best, the second one is "if the answer to the first question is true, does the anthropogenic hypothesis hold?" to which the """science""" is weaker, and finally the third and most important one "if 1 and 2 are true, what should we do about it?".
I'm not gonna get into mathematical modelling, satellite imagery, records of temperature and experimental precision of measures. You'd need a whole degree in hard science, math or physics for that. So we will gloss over the first two questions ASSUMING THEY'RE TRUE WITHOUT DEMONSTRATION and go straight to "what should we do about it" or the "policies".
Life quality correlates to energy consumption. You want AC on your luxury SUV? Well that costs energy. You want floor heating with a thermostat (you'll have a hard time explaining this concept to people in some countries)? That costs energy. World's population is increasing rapidly. You'd have to reduce the standards of living in ALL THE DEVELOPED WORLD to accommodate for the target energy per capita usage to "avoid a climate crisis".
Fine. Are Americans willing to do it? No. French? Ha, yellow vests protested months in Paris starting from a green tax on gas, so no. German? No. Canadians? No. British? No. No one wants to cut their standard of living. Fine, what about the underdeveloped world. Are they comfortable in facing the arrested development necessary and living in the slums? No. China's people rise out of extreme poverty (at the expense of other countries) is marked by adopting higher standards of living and energy consumption (even fucking tissue paper). Well are African peoples willing to live in the dark ages and pay the price for the first world's level of comfort? Not really, they want to follow the development route all the same.
So no, climate change (which used to be global warming, but it seems they couldn't really use the term after the lack of "warming") is not "our most existential threat". Authoritarian governments are much closer and dangerous. And they use the climate change card as an undefeatable enemy to support the installation of totalitarian war economies and emergency powers.
