Yeah, that's how it works... low interest rates increase inflation but decrease unemployment. High interest rates reduce inflation but increate unemployment. They try to keep those 2 in balance but they've been asleep at the wheel on inflation. Now as they struggle to catch up, we can expect more economic pain.
This is how every bureaucracy operates, whether it's the FBI or city government or some organ of state government. People get angry. They say "we'll investigate" and it calms people down. Then they drag their feet for months or years, wait for people to forget, before quietly announcing it's all good and nothing will happen.
What is there to investigate? Everything came out in court. It's clear what the governor and the public want the outcome to be. Why does some poindexter months of thumb twiddling and filling out forms to get this done?
Courts are ridiculous. They can make snap judgements on things like injunctions, but need 2-5 years to "deliberate" on the actual case itself. It's like every judge drags their feet and takes months if not years to decide anything.
I think wikipedia shows them all as blue currently, no more yellow. I know New York was still trying to put some restrictions on shall-issue, but most of those got slapped down pretty quick. Not sure what nonsense the other yellow states are trying.
Yeah kinda true. Debt collectors should be able to win those cases easily, but they're really lazy about it since nobody ever shows up. If a debtor actually shows up in court and says "prove it" they'll be shocked and scrambling
If people just say fuck it all and throw their hands up in the air, they can't garnish the wages of everyone.
Sure they can, there's an entire industry devoted to debt collection. They get judgements against people at an industrial scale, and despite all the tough talk from internet tough guys, 99.9% of debtors won't even show their face in court. Default judgements are the easiest thing to get.
Then it's just a matter of sending the garnishment to an employer, who will comply with it because they don't want to be on the hook. There goes 25% of disposable income.
Kari Lake has done so much work to improve election integrity in Arizona. It would've been so easy to just concede and slink away. Instead, she fought, putting a spotlight on all the issues and getting some favorable court rulings even if the ultimate ruling still eludes her. Now, we know what to look for, and in future elections we can keep our eyes on the signature matching shenanigans they try to pull.
attorney general of Ohio
The Ohio Attorney General is Dave Yost. He's a generic cowardly Republican. The only thing resembling a backbone he's done is sent a strongly worded letter to GoFundMe after they canceled the Canadian Trucker's Convoy and were going to divert donor funds elsewhere. Otherwise, he spends his days suing Dollar General for mispricing products and crying about how the state legislature floated the idea of making his staff work from the office (Oh, the horror!)
Most recently, his office supported the Ohio Medical Board as they stripped the license of Dr. Tenpenney, a vaccine skeptic. She complained about a lack of due process, but our RINO AG didn't care.
He's just a cowardly swap creature, more interested in pleasing the wealthy and powerful than doing his job.
I remember reading them around 2010. I remember they had an article against affirmative action around that time. Even more recently, I think they endorsed Abigail Shirer's book about how trans kids are a social contagion.
Supposedly they lean conservative, but from a UK point of view, which means they're all in on hating Trump and global warming propaganda. It's very rare they have a good take anymore. UK conservatives make Ben Shapiro look edgy.
At stores like Walmart and Target, you'll make your selections and pay on the app, then pick-up at a window inside or opt for curbside delivery.
Home Depot already does this. You order an item online and if it's small, they put it in a pickup locker in the wrong. Just park, walk in, punch in your code, and walk out with your item. Pretty convenient honestly.
That's why they need to sue him in civil court for damages. Don't accept a settlement. Drag him into court. Depose him. Embarass him publicly. Get him fired from his job. Get a judgement against him. Enforce the judgement. Garnish his wages. Freeze his bank accounts and seize the funds to satisfy the judgement. Tack on late fees. Tack on interest. Drag him back into court and tack on legal fees. Make the guy's life a living hell.
Ramaswamy is legit on anti-ESG stuff. He won't be pres but would be great for Treasury Secretary. That job usually goes to some big banker. Trump gave it to Steve Mnuchin the first time around. What's he done to pay back the favor? All of his former cabinet and even former VP turned out to be snakes. What's Rex Tillerson up to? What's Scott Pruitt have to say about the indictments? Where's Sessions? He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. What does that overhyped tough guy "Mad Dog" Mattis have to say about anything? All losers! Trump needs good people the 2nd time around.
They're a dying brand. It' used to be BK vs. McDonald's. Now I can't even remember the last time I saw a BK actually open. Wendy's, Arby's, hell, even most chicken places are more common than BK anymore.
