There is a webm going around purportedly showing a DEW starting fires.
I have got to admit that it was pretty convincing and was something I'd never seen before, fwiw.
Extremely coincidental timing to release this considering all the talk about DEWs on the Chans the last couple of weeks.
Didn't put much stock in the DEW wild fire theory, before this announcement that is.
Makes me think the evidence I saw was authentic and this official release is meant to make it seem like those attacks were from a foreign actor's satellite.
Call me crazy, but IMO, this release actually lends more credence to the theory the fires may have been started by our own DEWs and this is just to try and blame another country and run cover for the evidence the letter agencies know is already in the public sphere.

No, you had the unfortunate experience of offering friendship to people that aren't worthy of it or can't be. Anyone that bails on a person for sharing their problems is a special kind of asshat that doesn't deserve your friendship in the first place. I'd reckon they probably don't have a single real friend in their life and has filled those spots with acquaintances.
Most people these days are navel-gazing, shallow acquaintance seekers. That way they can have the benefits of friendship without putting in any real work or sacrifice for them, like a true friendship requires. They want someone they can discard when convenient. Real friendship means being a good friend. If they left due to what you describe, then they were never your real friend, and that has nothing to do with you.
Real friendships are hard to find and rare in this world. The overwhelming majority of them aren't worth their salt. I'd rather have one real friend than twenty acquaintances.
Don't get down on yourself about that, many people of quality and substance find themselves in the same boat as you my friend.
My friend, this sucks, hard. I won't tell you I know what you are going through because I am sure I don't. It sounds like you are hoeing a very tough row. Reading your words here make me feel like a complete pussy for ever whinging about what I call my "problems".
But I see two things here in your post, that you may not, and I think are the best indicators of the success you will ultimately find in the future. You are high IQ, you wouldn't have the opinions you have, the perspective, and the ability to articulate your feelings at the age I an guessing you are unless you did. And you are a hard worker. Or, you know, you'd be rolling on two wheels instead of on two feet like you are today.
Those two indicators are the best long term predictors of future success and contentment.
Where you are right now is dark, but the best advice I was ever given when I was at my lowest is this; don't worry anything more than 72 hours in your future, don't even think about it. Just keep your perspective to what you need to be aware of and don't think about your future, as you are not thinking clearly or accurately right now and dwelling on that which you can't change yet will just end up with you in a knot of anxiety. Concentrate on putting one foot in front of the other, that's your only job for the next week, IMO at least.
Give yourself time to grieve for your loss. Don't beat yourself up about feeling that way either. Your girlfriend represented your world view and was a part of your shared history and you thought she'd be a part of your future. It takes time for you to process the information emotionally and integrate it into your new world view. It is painful of course, but it can be enlightening too.
However, based on what you are telling me it sounds like you can do better anyway. Any person that cared that much for you to bail on you like that with no notice was not the one. Trust me, when you find her you'll know. It'll feel nothing like this does, and believe it or not, I doubt you will right now and I don't blame you, you will be thankful for your ex breaking up with you. Strife is the gateway to knowledge and you just gained a ton of knowledge, I am sure I don't need to impress that upon you right now.
You will make it through this.

Always remember, and never forget, you are stronger than you think you are.
