The video walking down the steps is an entirely different story that I do not know the backstory on and could plausibly be what everyone thinks. However, the ones from TV aren't legit, IMO.
My wife has girlfriends that love RuPaul's Drag Race, they all watch and know these things. They've told me far more than I ever wanted to know. In fact, they revel in it just to see my reaction. It is in a good-natured way actually, although it certainly doesn't sound like it based on my comment.

Security is super important to women. There are few gifts that mean as much as helping them gain some power back for themselves in a world where many of them feel powerless against the men that surround them.

Getting my wife some basic training and a stun gun did wonders for her mental health. I knew it'd help her, but never dreamed it'd mean so much. Even she said she was shocked how much it helps her feel better just going about her daily life.
Think I paid like $30 for the first one I got her, I recommend the double pronged ones that spark and make a loud arcing noise as they can be used as a stand-off weapon. I must have bought ten of them and given them to her girlfriends over the years. They are small, rechargeable, and worth every penny, IMO.
Buzzing one of them in the dark will get anyone's attention. Hell nowadays even the cheaper ones have metal shrouds to keep an attacker from being able to grab it away from them without getting lit up.

I am very blessed to not be in personal danger due to where I live, but think I can relate to the job, considering I am in a similar position myself currently, which I hesitate to say (as this post isn't about me) but explains my perspective and why I think I can relate to you better than many, especially right now.
I cannot imagine taking all the things I make mountains of worry over everyday and then adding in living in a war zone like you have been doing. I'd worry what that'd do to me.
Good on you for staying positive and pushing forward, despite all the adversity you faced. It isn't easy to do so in the today's job market and quite easy to get discouraged.
Not only did you not fall into that trap, you stayed enthusiastic enough to sell yourself to someone else so well that they didn't just offer you a job, but are so motivated to get you there they are willing to pay you more!

I once watched a guy in college that had just seen this movie attempt to explain this bit to a chick that sat next to him.
They'd been chatting each other up the whole semester, IMO he had lucked out as he was dopey and she was classically gorgeous with a hint of an accent I couldn't place but sounded mesmerizing.
Problem was, she was not familiar with South Park or the Team America movie, and I think she was foreign. But that didn't stop this Mensa candidate from trying to explain the above scene in vivid detail to her.
The look on her face was priceless. It was like watching a train wreck. I saw it coming, knew what was going to happen, but couldn't look away.
She tried to be nice but was so obviously shocked and offended that she was having a rough go. IMO, she was a sweetheart about it, but she no longer chatted the dude up needless to say.
Great thing was the nimrod legitimately never put two and two together. He kept trying, getting shot down, and never realized that conversation was the reason she stopped talking to him. That being said, perhap it wasn't meant to be.
I'll never forget watching him crash and burn though. Was like the kid trying to reenact the funny sketch from SNL in the lunchroom on Monday morning but about a million times worse, and in front of a beautiful woman instead of your dumbass friends.
