I keep hearing that a third party will just work in the Democrats favor. But in the past, third parties were too small to matter. The unknown factor right now is, how many Trump voters were Trump voters and how many were GOP voters. Many people say we should stay in the GOP and work within the system. If that worked, Biden would still be in his basement. Let's wait and see how much 'buyers remorse' there is from the Democrats. I was a Dem until 2016, as were many other Trump voters. Many of them, like me, looked at McCain and Romney and gladly voted for Obama (twice). A new party would ditch people like them and that would remove a stigma that many Democrats have etched in their minds.
Driving home today, a woman on a bicycle (masked) crossed a major intersection when her light was red. Wife and I laughed. The stupidity manifests itself in many forms. Don't forget, losing one pound a week is quite easy. They have had 25 weeks but haven't lost an ounce.
