Being raised by my grandparents, I was not prone to spoiling. I was entitled to get up at 4 am and do my farm chores before washing up to head to school. I was entitled to come home from school and do my barn chores before dinner and afterwards my homework. I was entitled to work the fields in the summer with everyone else, butchering ,canning, readying for winter. My classmates told of vacations and pool parties that I wasn't invited to. Because you get no days off from a working farm.
" pet" rabbits can be grown and harvested . If things get tight, I hope they lift the chicken ban in town. But rabbits are good too. Another food rode t most people over look I'd guinea pigs. They also were originally kept as livestock. Supposedly, closely akin in taste to pork , or chicken
Grain grinder will pulverize the beans and rice so that they can be cooked quickly with minimal heat expenditure. I've been experimenting with ground beans, into a flour consistency adding a small amount to a cup of hot water makes a bean paste , which sits nicely on rice flour 'flat bread'. Spices...hot peppers , lots of different sources jeep it from being bland Yes.. I experiment ahead of time so I'm not surprised
