Yes this could be a it, a set up to given them an excuse to crack down on sharing of any kind of unsanctioned file or leak, claiming that it is connected to "domestic terrorism." They brought you the lockdowns and masks so you do the talking on their turf, on the net. But they haven't been able to put the personal computing genie back into the bottle. All their censorship AIs and kill switches will only buy them a couple of days before people start organizing in real life and swapping USB keys on the remaining computers that they weren't able to disable.
Arrogation. These corporations pretend they are states, with their rules and suspensions and strikes and appeals, except they have none of the safeguards that are necessary in a free society. They are both party, judge and executor or whatever the correct legal term is. Big Tech thinks they are the government. They think they have a handle on the masses with their mind control technology. Their data scientists were assuring them that the sentiment tracking, network identifying and trend control algorithms work to perfection. But people are snapping out of it. Large nation states can break practically all civilian crypto. Military crypto is not fundamentally different but uses modes of operation that make it unbreakable but also cumbersome to use. This includes special machines that can mine Bitcoin very, very efficiently, or forge the signatures to alter the distributed ledger. Also applies to other coins. Don't trust crypto. All this talk about "post-quantum cryptography" is a cover story to hide the fact that civilian crypto modes can be easily broken by classical machines, and they need a pretet to explain why they will want to move away from them when enough "bad actors" acquire the ability to break the old crypto.
How about this: the FCC was sending them weeklys, but the phone companies weren't passing them to customers to "avoid annoying them" and to prevent them from getting harmful misinformation inciting to violence. Then they got the FCC reminder yesterday. Now they've stopping blocking them.
Avoid intervention by NSA. The rumours were that the "Russians" hacked the 2016 election, translation the NSA interfered in the election fraud process, maybe by DDOSing the servers controlling the fraud.
