D.C.'s gun laws are restrictive but the thing is, sometimes people just say fuck it! They have had enough and this is the hill they are willing to fight potentially die on. I wouldn't suggest it, in fact I think it would be counter productive, but I see it as a natural reaction to the level of violence that ANTIFA was allowed to get away with.
How long should we tolerate terrorism while remaining calm and failing to adequately defend ourselves? ANTIFA is terrorism that has been enabled and supported by officialdom. So, at what point does officialdom lose relevance and people take up arms?
Look at people's reactions, its getting close and while we can agree that it's not a desirable state of affaires, perhaps it is what is needed.
All gun owners that I know are fully aware of the laws and none of them would take an action like this without fully evaluating the risks. If people do show up armed, it will not be because "13-year-old keyboard warriors who are putting naive people up to that kind of unnecessary stunt." rather it will be very serious people willing to go to jail, or discharge their weapon, based on the conviction of their beliefs.
