I've worked with several Chinese immigrants who absolutely despise the communist government while still celebrating the elements of traditional Chinese culture that Xi's government is trying to destroy. Many of them, who are well-educated in writing the traditional characters, are furious about the communists' attempt to wipe out traditional writing in favor of "simplified" writing.
