I can confirm that this is what happened to my dad a while back when he made some stupid posts about Obama and liberals.

FBI Agent called him at work, because they went to the house and only my mom was home. Said that he wasn't in any sort of trouble, just wanted to talk to him and ask a few questions. They did that, it was that simple, and the FBI Agent shut the case right then and there. Never heard another word since.

Nothing was personally identifying, IIRC.

Well, until this week, that is.

My America's hard just THINKING about how many people we could red-pill and wake up.

u/Doggos ? What are your thoughts on this? They have no way, grounds, reach or capability to silence us when we're trying to show and promote unity. We're hosted and maintained by American patriots who won't bow down as we try to unite all Americans. The temporary overlay banner could be read as something like this as a mock:

WELCOME CBS VIEWERS! You may have heard some bad things about us on the news this morning. Those things aren't true at all. Yes, we normally are a Trump-supporters only discussion board. But, we want to welcome an opportunity to hold calm and civil discussion, and attempt to dispel the myths that you might hold about us, our party and the MAGA movement. We're not racists. We're not fascists. We're not bigots. Let us prove that to you. Ask us anything you want, and we will respond. We've put a temporary moratorium on rule #1 here, and want to engage in the discussion with you that Twitter, Facebook and the rest of the ugly-side of corporate America won't allow us to have.

Help us to fight left-wing radicalization. Be a part of the discussion. See what we're really about, what Trump's really about. We're not controlled by corporate lobbyists, those who have surrendered to the Chinese CPC and the establishment (also known as the swamp) here. You won't become further divided from other Americans by only being exposed to a limited amount and type of speech.

Now, at some point in the future, we will put this rule back in place. We are a HIGH ENERGY TRUMP RALLY, but the vast majority of us are not even close to what the media makes us out to be. Just like we know that not all people who support some of your movements are what radicals on our side make you guys out to be.

Free speech. For all. That's what we're after. Welcome, take off your shoes and coat, stay a while, learn about some of the great things for all Americans (and world-inhabitants!) that Trump has done and enjoy your stay.

We could red-pill a lot of people if we do this right and pull it off.

(For the uninitiated, that simply means getting the left to understand better and maybe even convince them to subscribe to certain right-wing political beliefs.)

They can not do this. GoDaddy fucked up.

Owner of that site needs to go to VeriSign and ICANN, and file a complaint. Breach of the registry contract, GoDaddy has to give them a way to transfer the domain out if it cancels services.

HA yup. Nah, they aren't, and neither is their InfoSec team right now (if they have one). Can confirm, am a sysadmin.

Though, with how quickly this happened after the maintenance started, it has me questioning their TTL settings.....

That's not normal for a registrar to do that unless it's a premium name being sold off intentionally. Usually it's "Someone owns this domain already, but here's where and how you can make them an offer." Not "This domain is available!"

Either way, corrected. But a horrible way of announcing that things are down for maintenance, couldn't do like a static splash page or something?

HORRIBLE way of handling it. Way to cause a panic, especially now since their registrar says that it's an available domain.

An engineer let them into their systems.

They've gotten personal info outside of just the public-facing posts/parleys.

The security on this platform is shit, from what I've been seeing. Wide-open endpoints, useless rate-limits that go off of an easily faked X-Forwarded-For header, no real verification happening with the phones (you could just enter random digits, and it would work), etc. etc. etc.. I would not be at all surprised if the passwords were stored in plain-text too.

Look at his Twitter. They're actively archiving. Supposedly a Parler LE betrayed us and gave him access to the databases as well through vulnerability leaks.

Probably either generator, solar-powered, or some other secondary source.

Haha sorry, had to. Wishful thinking.

One can hope, right?

I really wish he would.

That saad, this isn't totally outside of the realm of possibilities, given that Twitter is now a platform for Iran's leader, before it is for our own leader.....

So, here's the thing.

If a big enough wave of business goes over to Microsoft, it may entice them to stay on our good side and not be the enemy here.

Just a thought.

I like bare metal. I handle the on-premise virtualization stuff too.

Unfortunately, people above my pay-grade made the decision to slowly dismantle our datacenters and go to the cloud.
