The reason I got interested in him was reading that huge 20k+ comment thread back in the early days of the campaign on reddit when the topic was, "People who met Donald Trump in real life, tell your story" and it was filled with comment after comment on what a good man he was. So different than how he is portrayed in the media.

He's attempting to say, I believe, because we conservatives have largely accepted homosexuality as normal, than this is the next logical step.
