This comment is super old at this point, but wanted to share. A family member of mine campaigned for Michigan's 3rd District for a little while. He's a successful business man in the area, but a normal guy in general. They did all kinds of dirty shit to him. Allegedly one of the more popular candidates payed off another Republican to smear my guy during the primaries because he was gaining traction. Nothing real of course - just fake bullshit like he doesn't support Trump and all this other nonsense. Point is: politics is corrupt to the core. Even House primaries where there is no incumbent.
