Unions don't need to be illegal...

A bunch of people can and should be able to decide to go on strike...

What's absolutely insane is that employers are legally prohibited from firing workers who don't show up to work during a strike.

The power a union has is the value of its members. If the union demands more than the workers are worth, the business should be free to decline, and fire the workers. It is unconscionable to behave otherwise.

You are being deceived by what appears to be intentional misinformation.

Bitcoin cannot be faked or "printed" and tether has absolutely nothing to do with it.

This is a psyop.

I have always wondered about the possibility of intentionally flawed code being injected into open source projects.

Do you have any information about instances this has actually happened?

Excellent post and comments!

I don't actually believe we have a huge ethno nationalism problem in our country, yet...

But the left is doing everything in their power to create one.

liberpede 1 point ago +1 / -0

In the US, white women vote left.

Identity politics is used to manipulate all of those groups into voting their identity over their rational mind.

Identity politics is cancer.

Ethno nationalism is identity politics.

That's sort of difficult to predict...

Western culture has certainly absorbed/mingled with many smaller cultures along the way. We have inherited attitudes and institutional ideas from Greeks, Romans, celts, Slavs, Germans, Norwegians, and even from peoples outside of Europe. I would argue we are better off for it overall.

It's worked well as an integral part of the operation of our societies for centuries now...

Maybe we shouldn't abandon it.

Ethno nationalism is objectively bad in any country.

It is a nationalist identity forged around genetics rather than the defining traits of your culture.

It is cancer because it places value where none is present; it robs weight from other factors of judgment which are far more important, such as intelligence, integrity, a moral compass, work ethic, rationality, creativity, etc.

When we make our national identity about virtues we can actually cultivate within ourselves, we inspire greater abundance of those virus among all people who adopt the national identity, not just those of one race.

There is certainly a link. It's hard not to be linked when you are usually raised by the same people that give you your genes...

It's not inseparable, however.

There are plenty of non whites who have adopted western culture, some of them generations ago.

There are also white people who have adopted the cancer that has been marketed as "black culture", (though that culture has very little to do with africa).

Yes, the ideas that make our nation great trace their roots back at least to the ancient greeks. It's pretty clear that celtic and germanic culture injected a fierce strain of individualism into our cultural DNA.

There are many hard earned lessons wrapped up in our culture. Understanding what they are and why they are important is fundamental to preserving and strengthening our nation.

This isn't an issue of trying to virtue signal. I've been called racist enough times for simply making a rational argument that I really don't even hear it any more.

This is about keeping sight of what actually, historically produced the nation we love. Our culture was forged among competing and wearing peoples over thousands of years. You can bet they didn't consider themselves ethnically homogeneous, and that was the source of quite a bit of violence. For millennia.

The victory of the idea that we can all coexist peacefully and in great prosperity, even if we are Greeks, celts, Slavs, etc; that's exactly what allowed western culture to win.

So, calling this cancerous idea out has nothing to do with virtue signaling to people who might call me racist.

It's a warning:

If you don't understand how the nation came to exist and how it functions, don't yank out the damn engine.

The leftists are already trying really hard to destroy or culture, which would be a tragedy not only for our children, but for the entire world. It is important that we patriots understand what we are defending.

You're not helping.

We are a nation of ideas. Just not those ideas.

We are a nation based on the ideas of individual rights and liberty. We are based on the idea of equality before the law. We are based on the idea of the rule of law itself.

It sounds like you are arguing for ethno nationalism. That's some bullshit we don't need.

When leftists say "diversity is our strength", they twist it into the ridiculous notion that we're better off as long as we look different.

The true meaning of that statement is that we derive immense societal strength from allowing individuals to pursue their extremely diverse goals to the maximum extent possible while respecting the rights of others to do the same. In other words, we accept however others wish to spend their lives, so long as they agree to respect the basic rights of their neighbors.

This package of ideas is extremely powerful. It has produced so much wealth and power that it has come to dominate the world. And has elevated us all to live as kings compared to our ancestors.

That package of ideas is our culture. And yes, western culture developed in Europe. But among its most powerful tenets is that we accept outsiders, as long as they accept our rights. That is a huge part of what makes the culture so successful.

So, yes nationalism is good, in the sense that we must defend the ideas that made America the greatest nation the world has ever seen.

But ethno nationalism is a cancer that goes directly against the ethos of America and MAGA.

We have a dangerous misconception that news can be "neutral".

Let go of it.

It is a worthy goal for a journalist to attempt objectivity, and we should seek out journalists and news organizations who pursue the ideal.

However, it is incumbent upon each of us, as independent thinkers, to consider the biases of all of our news sources when evaluating the information they provide.

It's not that objective truth doesn't exist.

It's that you're a fool if you believe that even the most well intentioned journalist, who is still a human being, is capable of reliably determining and conveying that objective truth to you.

Our system only works when we operate as a decentralized network of independent thinkers communicating in a free and robust debate.

We do not accept authoritative arbiters of truth. This is the American way. This is the way of western civilization.

If you find it uncomfortable to think for yourself, to be responsible for evaluating the truth of information, then maybe freedom isn't really for you.

Your mind is your greatest weapon. Keep it sharp.

We used to have a traditional method of imposing consequences upon public officials who betrayed the public trust...

is it time to bring back tarring and feathering?

Decentralized is the key word we should be looking for!

It doesn't matter if the creators are commies if

  1. the protocol is unbiased
  2. it's decentralized

After seeing the naked malice of big tech over the last 6 months...

We should be advocating decentralizing all the things!

Who is this guy?

Is he trying to convene a grand jury as a Joe blow citizen?

How much precedent is there for that?

If this can work, why is this the first guy to try?

There was a time when calling to end slavery seemed "ridiculous" to the majority of the population...

That doesn't mean you don't say it.

The "Assault Weapon" ban was actually struck down just days before the shooting.

Hooray!

Doesn't really change anything, just wanted to get the right facts out there.

The only one of those you can't control is power grid unreliability.

The code is fundamentally sound. If you do your part to maintain security, you will have your money as long as there is some manner of internet.

3
liberpede 3 points ago +3 / -0

True, Bitcoin is only good as long as some manner of network exists.

I suspect we will continue to enjoy that luxury, even if SHTF...

But that's something to think about.
