Hate crimes are simply crimes with clear motive. I try to drill this into people. The actual case that drove hate crime into law was this one and it turns out it was political theater by the powers that be. When I looked into what greenhouse gasses were and found out 97% of greenhouse gas is water vapor (clouds) and something like 3% of the remainder is CO2 and 3% of that is man made I checked out of the whole debate.
