I think environment too tbh. I was a sheep outwardly for many years. The things I succeeded at most( mathematics) I would always verify every single thing about the logic behind it and played around with a deep desire to understand WHY things worked. (First question I had when I learned the power rule in calculus was "why does this work?"). Before I got really good at math I was TERRIBLE at it(or at least I thought I was).
I LOL at me in the past wondering if I'm terrible at math despite me not studying at all. It's hard work, but that's the point.
