Good point. I refuse to install an app on my phone if they also have a website that does the same thing.

Something that would be a lot simpler in the meantime would be to just have apk and ipa files available to download and install.

Get everyone you can using it. Everyone should be using encryption as much as possible in their everyday lives, not just when sailing the high seas for a movie or software or something.

Pffft. I CCW an M9A4 with a light and a red dot and I'm an average size guy. Get a Phlster Enigma and never worry about printing again.

Now, on the flipside, go watch Empire of Dust and come back and tell me they'll use that to enhance their own countries. They won't and all that will happen is that their local warlords/leaders will exploit that same kid for their own gain. Africa will not prosper if we leave it to its own devices, but maybe that's a good thing, I don't know.

No. Mastodon is one of the largest servers (850 thousand users) of the Fediverse (Federated Universe), which is a decentralized social media system that's similar to Twitter. It's actually really awesome for those that actually care about having alternative services to what Big Tech offers. You can even run your own using a home server or a VPS you rent. I'd have my own going right now but my ISP blocks some things on their end to make that unfeasible.
