I said this yesterday on another thread but mandatory vaccines have never ever been a thing in this country and they’re not about to be. The fact that it’s even a talking point is absurd and just makes the right look crazy.
There are two ways to mitigate the virus.
1.) Have no lockdown and create herd immunity. This would mean most at risk or elderly people would die and once enough healthy people have developed an immunity, the virus would stop spreading.
2.) Shelter in place to mitigate the overall spread so that those who are at risk don’t get it and die. We’ve known since the start that this option would significantly extend the period of which we have to put up with this virus.
The president and most states chose option 2 to protect the most at risk and vulnerable. If we abandon social distancing too soon it was literally all for nothing.
I’ve tried to explain so many times here that the reason the death rate is so low and cases haven’t ballooned out of control is because of the fact that everyone has to stay home. If it weren’t for shelter in place in addition to social distancing we’d be in a much worse place.
I’m all for opening very slowly in places where cases are low but it pisses me off when peabrains here want to just let it rip nationwide all at once.
I’m sure you’re an okay person but anti-vax is something I have very little tolerance for. Many of those things have been debunked or proven false. I’m not one to get a flu shot every year but not getting the most essential and important vaccines is just selfish and puts those around you at a greater risk of serious disease.
Are you against all vaccines or a vaccine for covid?
