First all of H1b is on hold.

H1b by definition is a non-immigrant and temporary visa that will enable someone to work for 5 years and 8 months.

To become a legal permanent resident they have to apply for a green card and if you don’t have PhD then it will take 20 years for that to happen.

While doing so they are not eligible for any social benefits (if you don’t have GC) or free school or free food or section 8.

So now you can decide if you want to be outraged because someone decides to immigrate here and patiently wait for the green card and citizenship for 25 plus years.

We can argue and debate about how cheap H1b taking American jobs but the fact is high tech employers can’t fill fast enough the positions. And Asian demography beats every other demography in terms of computer science /electrical/software/data science.

So it is only fair to assume people who get hired in h1b help the economy of USA.

And don’t forget while waiting patiently (with lots of limitation like can’t change job easily) they pay higher taxes, fulfill their social security payments (which they are not eligible if they go back within 10 years)

I am a former H1b holder took 15 years for my green deed, I am legally here in USA for 22 years.

Now I don’t want anyone to tell me I am any less of an American.

Show the outrage on people coming here illegally skipping the lines and are eligible (Atleast in ca) for many social benefits.
