He's a legitimate astrophysicist, but he went the route of the social justice warriors and put science "communication" and money over doing his trained job. That's definitely not for me.
A scientist by nature should always take every opportunity to explain his science to the public, as he is almost always on the public dole. Every scientist is thus a science communicator by heart. This has been bastardized by money and turned into a job. Further, it is enhanced by the fact that most lefties love "science porn" which is equal in degeneracy to real porn.

Haha kidding, space is too large for aliens to have visited. We've been sending out radio signals for approximately 100 years. There is a bubble of human-created radio waves 100 light-years in radius expanding by 1 light-year per year. Our Milky Way Galaxy is approximately 100,000 light-years across. So at best we've only sent signals out to 1% of our Galaxy.
It would take any alien an equal amount of time to send a signal back since nothing can travel faster than light.
The closest large galaxy to us is the Andromeda Galaxy at about 2 million light-years. They will not know we exist for another 2 million years, unless they could detect life on our planet prior to us sending out radio waves. That's a possibility.
So, it'll be a while before we hear anything, if ever, from any aliens.
I am of the opinion that alien life definitely exists, but has never or possibly will never, visit Earth while we are alive. It is also possible that all alien life is non-intelligent (liberal aliens, kek) and so it will only reveal itself through biochemical signals like oxygen/CO2 production etc.
I'll be the first to tell y'all if I hear anything. I would not want to miss out on all the alien Pepe memes.
