Yeah, just one of those internet misconceptions. I couldn't find any actual pictures of Johnson. I guess he wasn't significant enough to warrant a portrait.

That's not Anthony Johnson. That's Lewis Hayden, who escaped slavery to become an ardent abolitionist and later was elected to Congress.

There are a few worth talking about. Kush, Abyssinia, Ghana, Mali, and Songhai are the first that come to mind.

Granted, these were all deeply involved in the African slave trade, but they were significant regional powers that are worth discussing in African history.

It didn't work at all. The German "economic miracle" was an illusion at best. They didn't have the money to pay for most of the industrial expansion, so they literally made fancy IOUs to the industrialists called the "MEFO bills." It may have worked if Hjalmar Schact was kept on as economics minister, but he opposed the excessive re-armament and proposed more free-market solutions as opposed to the fascist ideal of autarky. He resigned fearing an imminent economic collapse and opposition from within the government. He was replaced by none other than Hermann Goering, who knew nothing of economics, so rearmament continued and then Germany had to invade other countries for plunder to keep it going.

Murdock seems to be a legit politico. Doing a little digging, it looks like Malarkey is a sophomore at Bucknell University who helps him with research. He's credited at the bottom of a bunch of articles Murdock wrote.

There have been tons of great leaders, artists, and scientists who were gay, like Leonardo da Vinci, Alan Turing, Alexander the Great, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Oscar Wilde. The world would be a far lesser place if not for their great minds.

Same. It's nice to get a nice injection of optimism every now and then.

I was a bit slow to the party. I was skeptical of Trump early into his term, so I didn't join you guys. I didn't think anything of TD, positive or negative in this time.

I ended up liking what Trump was doing in office, which had me drifting rightwards throughout the last 4 years (center-left to center-right). I subscribed to the subreddit when it was Quarantined out of protest, and followed it to here when it got banned.

My district representative is a Democrat. Who should I be contacting instead?

As of the last census, 1729 Michigan residents were over 100 years old. I don't know how the number has changed since them, but it likely has increased.

This curated list only has 1362 names on it. That means it's within the realm of possibility that it's legit.

I made a post on /r/conservative a few days ago, and I think that this is a good place to put it too.
