Trump is just the current figurehead of the American populist movement. Yea most the people on TD uncritically followed Trump for the moment because of the position he held in it but ultimately he is just a manifestation of a pre-existing movement. All the retards who call him Hitler and all that need to realize that he isn't Hitler he is Hindenburg. Trump was the compromise of a centrist populist politician who did a little course correction but ultimately failed to stop things from getting worse. The institutional opposition was just too high for him to be effective on the issues he was good on. Between the "deep state" and republican establishment and the democrats it was just too much to overcome. The republican establishment in particular has effectively committed suicide with this betrayal and over the next several years i think an enormous amount of them will be primaried and removed. This isnt normal level cuckservativism this is an outright betrayal and attempt to tell the voters to get back in line and accept the neocon leadership again.
The person who eventually follows Trump up is almost certainly going to be all the things they accuse Trump of that he isn't. So when we get a president who is some mixture of E Michael Jones, Jarod Taylor and Pinochet 4 years or 8 years from now they will have no one to blame but themselves.
