You do not have to to wait for someone with a clipboard to come to your door. The recall website has locations of places you can go where they are staffed for recalls. In my town, there are two gun stores, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.
Also, there is always room for more people with clipboards. If you can join and get signatures from outside grocery stores, door to door, etc. please do.
Finally (and anyone signing you up should know this), you must sign within the right spot, not abbreviate your address, etc. Otherwise your signature won't count. This is call made clear on the recall materials.

Edit: Also cases are a leading indicator. Deaths are a lagging indicator. It's possible for current deaths to be down, new cases to be up and future deaths to be up.
