You don't really need that cigarette. When you smoke a cigarette, all it does is create a vacuum that you have to fill later with another cigarette. Stop creating those vacuums. Those holes you have to keep trying to fill back up again. Commit to quit and keep thinking about what each cigarette is actually doing....creating the next vacuum, and go ahead and smoke for awhile with that thought in your mind. Every single time you take a puff, every single cigarette from now on....think of that. Think to yourself what a terrible thing it is that that cigarette is doing to you, creating another damn vacuum. Once you smoke your last cigarette, get through that initial crappy vacuum feeling, and the vacuum will disappear on it's own.
Then you just need to do something else (have a pen in your hand and tap it or something) for awhile to get past that muscle memory stuff. Take long deep breaths to mimic taking a drag. The long deep breaths will calm you and actually end up having the same type of effect on you. It relaxes you.
I was a 2-pack a day smoker and I quit 17 years ago. I always thought I'd always wish I could have a cigarette or be jealous of smokers.. (lol). I was hardcore. I would go to the 7-11 at 2am just for cigarettes if I ran out, just so I wouldn't be without them in the morning. It did not take very long at all for me to feel like I felt BEFORE I ever started smoking. I smoked for about 15 years before I quit. I can say with absolute honesty, I feel like I never ever smoked a cigarette in my life. Once the nicotine left my body and I looked at cigarettes differently (instead of seeing them as a 'friend", and started seeing them as some little bastard that was making my life miserable with all those damn vacuums) I was just fine.
I know this was long. sorry. But hey, I know how hard it is to think about quitting. And I also know that it really isn't as bad as you think once you get the right mindset.
Good luck! and Happy Birthday.
yep. They terminated his account. What were they talking about? I missed it, went to YT to catch it and saw that his account was gone.
