Companies don't train anymore because they used to be able to easily hire unpaid interns and now there's so much red tape and liability it's usually not worth it.
This is definitely failure by design.
And completely agree the things they teach are borderline useless, if not downright wrong.
Whats ironic is its this attitude that got us here in the first place.

I get that it sounds hard but that's not a joke. And you disparaging it doesn't help anyone....
Living below your means and being smart with your money makes that a possibility. Especially if you set up multiple income streams early. Plus retiring doesn't mean having no job.
Construction and other trade work has an incredibly high earning potential. And those skills can be used to make way more money than a job will pay you.
You just need to think of things differently. Especially if you're under 25.
Change your perspective. This is the best thing that could happen to you.
Don't go to college. Learn a trade and save. Work hard and work your way up. Buy a house as soon as possible. Get roommates. Pay off your house. Get married, have kids.
By 30 start your own business. Or just keep your cushy salary and project manager position and flip a couple houses a year on the weekends.
By 40 have enough set aside to retire.
The only way to win is not to play.
We do have the same culture though. Being American means something. We are led to believe we have different ones and for the past 60 or more years we have been pushed further apart. Unfortunately the black trashy culture has been pushed and elevated into the mainstream, but I know many Black people who are appaled by that the same way you and I are appaled by honey boo boo and the like.
I believe that if we weren't forced to integrate, integration was happening naturally.
Black Americans were church going, family oriented, freedom loving patriots.
Of course there was some contention, we have a rough history. But we had 2 successful parallel societies and I believe people were genuinely coming together on their own. Black people acting like normal Americans would have earned respect from even the staunchest opponents over time by example and small exposure. Forcing integration just caused more fights from the strongest opinions on both sides.
We are constantly being messed with by the powers that be. That's the issue.
They frame the argument as though the most extreme opinions are the only options and that one of them is morally superior.
Global warming, minimum wage, Immigration. Just everything.
It makes sense That's what happened with integration as well.
People are just people. We can all improve and change over time. There is always a chance for redemption. Putting people in situations that encourage growth unfortunately isn't something we currently do culturally, if we did things would change.
Anxiety, depression, ADHD...
They're all learned behaviors or natural impulses we haven't learned to control.
Most people have thoughts and feelings that if they indulged them constantly for years and decided they are part of your identity of course they would turn into a mental illness. But if you treat those issues as external and learn to cope you come out of it intact.
Your buddy needs to realize his feelings are normal, there's no need to think he's not a man anymore. We all feel different levels of discomfort in our bodies and in this world at times. That is part of being human. Feeling like you don't belong is normal when you go through a huge culture shock like moving to SF! But that way of living isn't more "normal" than a small town.

She didn't get that surgery done though...
At least a full mastectomy is a proven surgery you can recover from, not that it's normal or acceptable to be done to treat body dismorphia.
The people they have pushing this aren't the ones doing the experimental bottom surgeries. That's saved for the plebs.
I'm not disagreeing, but its more than that. Red tape increases cost to operate. And so does liability.
It's more expensive intentionally to discourage companies from doing it.
There is nothing inherently wrong with running a company for profit. It's what a company is there for. Companies do what's most profitable, not what's most fair or whatever. The laws should make doing what's best for the people in their zone (local, state or federal)
The laws make this the most profitable way to do business.
That's the problem.
