I'd be interested in a comparison of "mass shooting" occurrences under the Trump administration vs. Biden's. It seems to me that Biden, in a shockingly short period of time, is already way ahead.

Get 'em to make Diet Rite again. Diet Rite was a sugar-free version of RC Cola. It came in several flavors, had no caffeine, sodium or calories. It was not sweetened with Aspartame, but instead Sucralose. It was barely matter but it was delicious.

It seems evident to me that when Trump initially promoted the vaccine, he perceived it as, you know, a vaccine; a standard, not-dangerous prophylactic medication that would act like the flu vaccine we've been using for years. And I don't expect that anybody told him how radically different the C19 vax was from that; if they did, they spun that information hard to portray the stuff as being as harmless as they could.

Trump and his family have taken the vaccine, and, like many other people, have had little or no ill effects (so far) as a result. I don't think Trump regards the C19 vaccine programs as propaganda, mind control, or new-world-order promotions; I think he thinks it's a reasonably safe medication that should allow for getting the country - which I believe he loves dearly - out of the pandemic crisis and back to work.

Title should start with "I refuse to stand by while..."

"My school, like so many others, induces students via shame and sophistry to identify primarily with their race before their individual identities are fully formed. Students are pressured to conform their opinions to those broadly associated with their race and gender and to minimize or dismiss individual experiences that don’t match those assumptions. The morally compromised status of “oppressor” is assigned to one group of students based on their immutable characteristics. In the meantime, dependency, resentment and moral superiority are cultivated in students considered “oppressed.”

All of this is done in the name of “equity,” but it is the opposite of fair. In reality, all of this reinforces the worst impulses we have as human beings: our tendency toward tribalism and sectarianism that a truly liberal education is meant to transcend.

Recently, I raised questions about this ideology at a mandatory, whites-only student and faculty Zoom meeting. (Such racially segregated sessions are now commonplace at my school.) It was a bait-and-switch “self-care” seminar that labelled “objectivity,” “individualism,” “fear of open conflict,” and even “a right to comfort” as characteristics of white supremacy. I doubted that these human attributes — many of them virtues reframed as vices — should be racialized in this way. In the Zoom chat, I also questioned whether one must define oneself in terms of a racial identity at all. My goal was to model for students that they should feel safe to question ideological assertions if they felt moved to do so.

It seemed like my questions broke the ice. Students and even a few teachers offered a broad range of questions and observations. Many students said it was a more productive and substantive discussion than they expected.

However, when my questions were shared outside this forum, violating the school norm of confidentiality, I was informed by the head of the high school that my philosophical challenges had caused “harm” to students, given that these topics were “life and death matters, about people’s flesh and blood and bone.” I was reprimanded for “acting like an independent agent of a set of principles or ideas or beliefs.” And I was told that by doing so, I failed to serve the “greater good and the higher truth.”"

Gotta admit, the tweeter has a point; I see no reason to believe that either Biden or Harris cares about any of us, much less all. And the Trump years (which are ongoing, of course) have indeed been traumatic, as harsh reality is uncovered and ancient lies are exposed.

Agreed; evidence suggests that media companies (very much including sports franchises) stand to make much more money by pandering to overseas audience requirements than they could make by adhering to USA values. (See, for example, the casting and advertising image choices made for blockbuster movies when advertising in Asian markets.) Globalist media companies literally have no reason to care about American interests.

I've come to the conclusion based on observation that extreme partisans tend to be lazy, shallow, self-absorbed, emotional adolescents. They have no actual principles; their only concern is self-regard and approbation; "internet points" are all that really matters to them. Their opinions should not be of interest to serious minds.

I hope they aren't instituting something like that. My guess is that they're just continuing to reconfigure/reconstruct the site. Thanks for the report, too.

Re: the argument for leaving them as private corporations (removing 230 protections) vs. making them utilities: is it too much to ask for both? Create a new social media format which doesn't allow for censorship of any kind; no "community guidelines" other than those already legally in place against libel, slander, release of proprietary information (i.e., your bank account numbers), etc.?

My question is: Would this "utility" legal definition affect sites such as .win? If so, how?

Old English Text, it looks like. Comes with Windows.

For those who are curious, the "objectionable" font is Old English Text (or a variant thereof), otherwise known as "The first font original Macintosh users switched to from Helvetica because it looked cool but wasn't really very readable."

(See, also: "The font that is even more unreadable in all caps but for some reason that's what they use on their cars.")

The "breaks from the internet" part cannot be emphasized strongly enough. Read some classics, or especially history. Learn some new stuff. Learning will always pick a man up.
