Correct. The impeachment trial is moot as Trump is no longer in office.

The impeachment process is specifically for removing federal officers from office. As Trump is no longer in office, the impeachment trial in the Senate is moot.

So, the Pentagon is able to deploy troops without the approval of the commander in chief, that being President Trump? I don’t really understand all the worry that it’s the “democrats” deploying these troops for their own protection.
