The constitution is pretty clear - the chief justice is required to preside only when the president (and that is "the" president, language that excludes ex-presidents) is the one being impeached.

It would help a lot if Parler could find a competent lawyer. I cannot imagine any judge appointed by any president granting an injunction or a TRO based on the complaint Parler filed - it is that bad. (Another possibility is that Parler’s lawyer is not incompetent so knew it wouldn’t work, filed this hopeless dog to keep the case in the news).

Downvote all you want if you’ve read Parler’s filing, Amazon’s response, and Rothstein’s ruling.

The VP is the president of the senate and is addressed that way when presiding over the senate. Same way that the chairman of a house or senate committee is referred to as “Mr Chairman” when running a committee meeting.

but doesn’t seem a bit off that this site attempting to be a competitor to the site they were just “removed” from had no legal issues with creating a website that is basically the old interface?

It’s open source. Anyone can download the source code from GitHub and use for whatever they want.

They have to vote in person or pick up a mail-in ballot from the BoE instead of having it mailed to them if they list a park, street corner, or other place with no mail service.

It’s worth mapping the dates and times on the flight logs to the SCOTUS calendar... We know where CJ Roberts was on argument and opinion days, and it wasn’t on Epstein’s plane.

Which certain areas? The ones I’ve been told about, when I checked it turned out that someone had the wrong number for registered voters in that area. So far I haven’t found any that have checked out... so a good thing if we could post up a few solid examples.

Car and Driver road test of the Aston Martin Lagonda, late ‘70s.... P J O’Rourke suggested that back seats wouldn’t be useful unless “your wife is planning to take a lot of thalidomide during the pregnancy”
