Realize that in addition to inventing a response in 3 days, the 4 states must collaborate so they do not conflict in their answer. That is asking a lot! In 3 days.

Several people have had words of criticism for the CDC. They are downplaying the severity of the crisis (to keep the people calm). I do not trust them.

Perhaps we can avoid the confusion with this simple enhancement:

The CDC reports DEATHS / NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH CONFIRMED INFECTION.

I say DEATHS / NUMBER OF CONCLUDED CASES.

Now decide which is more to your liking. No conflict here.

Two years from now, we will know who was right when:

NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH CONFIRMED INFECTION == NUMBER OF CONCLUDED CASES.

My bet is that the final number will be closer to 6 than 3.
