Wait, what? That page shows a very similar number of total COVID-19 deaths, but the current weekly rate is WAY lower than what Worldometers is showing. Worldometers is showing 800-1000 deaths a day right now but CDC is saying 137 total for the last week!! Are the states putting out fake data????????
Ok I think this note explains it: *Data during this period are incomplete because of the lag in time between when the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more, depending on the jurisdiction and cause of death.
