Every person has the power in them to make their lives better. I think the people here know better than others that when things aren't going your way, you roll up your sleeves and do something about it instead of feeling sorry for yourself. My family is from Syria. The real genocide was when we decided to arm the Islamists in the first place. Were it not for us encouraging the civil war, the government would have crushed the jihadists and life would have gone on. Assad isn't a good guy by any means, but there is currently no viable political party to replace him unless you want a caliphate. The thing that opened my eyes was his intervention in Syria. My parents were born in Syria and it was clear as day to all of us that the "opposition" was actually islamists. Yet Obama armed them anyway just to destabilize the country and try to hurt Russia's influence in the region.
