Covid killed my grandma. It wasn't the disease, though, it was the draconian lockdowns that isolated a 90 year old woman who raised 9 children, 30+ grandchildren, and 50+ great grandchildren. She thrived on family.
They locked her in her room and didn't even allow the staff to interact with her for months. You could go visit her... by standing outside her suite and looking at her through the window like some kind of god damn zoo exhibit. Within a month and a half she was a withered husk. At the point that my aunts could actually get her out of the home it was too late, she was already too far gone.

My grandma died three weeks ago from this. Never got sick, but for months on end was locked in her room and only allowed to see family through a window. She went from a fairly vibrant 90 year old to a shambling wreck very quickly.
Absentee ballots have existed for years (first introduced in the Civil War and then adopted by all states for people unable to reach polling stations by 1911) for people who are unable to make it to their polling stations. This is what should be used if you are sick, or even afraid to go vote in person.
BTW, this is the method of voting by mail that the president has always said is secure and should be used. The fact that they are trying to change the way people vote two months before the election by introducing a new element just shows that they want the voting to be fucked up as much as possible so they can contest the results.
My Aunt is a long time nurse who has been working on the COVID wing at her hospital and she is just tired of the bullshit being spread about this virus. Don't buy into the hype. Lot's of medical professional's know what is going on.
