Are you talking about the honeybadger gun/rifle/pistol thing? I saw that posted a couple weeks ago claiming that the ATF was going after all AR pistols but the ATF was specifically talking about the honeybadger. I don't like that either, but that and reclassifying all AR pistols are not the same thing.
Edit: Also, the honeybadger probably was targeted because of their proprietary brace. I believe the ruling on the braces for the ATF says that braces are supposed to be used to help hold the gun with one hand/arm and the recent reversal on the shouldering nonsense means that you can shoulder pistol braces, but the braces cant be designed to be shouldered and they cant be modified either.

For me I got lucky. I mostly didn't have to deal with this crap for the majority of my enlistment. However, I could see this crap creeping in faster and faster. I gave a warning to my close friends about it before I left. Half the problem was the crazies pushing it. The other half were the people in leadership either blindly following or being to scared to push back.

I honestly don't think it will retroactively apply to contracts awarded before the EO date. It usually doesn't work like that. Even the new mandatory contract provisions aren't supposed to go into effect until 60 days after the order.
