The thing is, our lockdown didn't work. and it couldn't work. 95% of the deaths are old people or people with underlying conditions. Almost all of these people likely caught it from someone that brought it into their nursing home or home and not from them being outside the home themselves. Someone in every house still needs to interact with others outside their family bubble. For food, for essential items, for work in many cases.
Unless we were going to strictly quarantine those at risk, there was never much point to this lockdown. Haphazard isolation rules and asymptomatic transmission meant this virus was never going to be slowed.
We've shattered our economy and millions of lives over a flu and nothing we did made any difference.
Only thing left now is the politicians, scientists and doctors who advocated for this nonsense to falsify enough data to pretend like they did the right thing.
Nobody really knows. There are some anecdotal reports and small studies indicating reinfection is possible in some people. But, we don't have the data, and the virus hasn't been around long enough for us to know how long the antibodies remain in your system. We aren't immune to the flu not because we lose the immunity, but because every year there are different strains that are not affected by the same antibodies.
Regardless, the fatality rate of this virus is so low, lower than the common flu at this point, that it makes no sense to continue sheltering in place even if there is no immunity.

Cuomo is trying to cover up all the deaths caused by NYC's incompetent response by listing them all as COVID. He created this disaster by closing hospitals to non-COVID patients and being too incompetent to use the 1000 beds on the Comfort.
The Japanese might really not vaccinate their kids before 2 years old. Plenty of countries advocate later vaccines, and there is some evidence that vaccinating too early can cause problems.
We do it early here because we have babies get check ups frequently in the first few months and figure we might as well kill two birds with one stone. We also have a lot of parents that don't raise their own kids. Vaccinating them early is good when the parents are going to dump them at a daycare petri dish with 30 other babies as soon as they are 2 months old.
I would bet Japan's infant mortality rate is so much lower than ours because Japan doesn't have welfare babies and tens of millions of uneducated, poor, morons who pump out babies and neglect them. Pretty much everyone in Japan that has a baby is educated, has a stable income, and wanted to get pregnant. Single parent families are also extremely rare and family sizes are small. All of that is a recipe for making sure a baby is born healthy, stays healthy, and gets plenty of supervision.
When you break down any healthcare stat in America, we are way ahead of any other country on Earth if you filter out the poor people.

People on the vaccine-crazy side say that anyone who so much as asks questions about the safety of a vaccine or the propriety of government forcing vaccinations is a nazi and deserves to be put down.
The reality is vaccines do a lot of good, but like any other treatment or medicine they also have negative side effects and can do a lot of harm when not used properly or when evil people like Bill Gates are allowed to play doctor in Africa and India with his poisons.

Fewer people have died in 2020 than this point in 2019. More people died from the flu in the 2018-2019 flu season than will die from COVID in 2020.

Sadly the southern states won't thrive even if they open back up. It'll be good for small businesses, but the big companies won't reopen until they are sure they won't get bad PR or sued.
