One thing a trip to China taught me is that I don't have control, I'm not intentionally polluting, but I'm not going to delete emails to save the planet while they pump burnt chemicals into the air to make me those Nikes... LMFAO

not if you don't need it and can turn it off (e.g. scale down the number of required disks)

REEEE I sorta do this for a living

Edit - you do know that in cloud computing, disk is not on the same server running your OS, usually, right? (still getting comfortable with how Kubernetes works but at least for traditional VM hosting, that's how it's done)

Technically, not wrong. Delete email - free storage space on server. -> Less storage needed -> Less electricity.

Only flaw with that logic is that Google never really deletes anything, even if you click delete forever and it even gives you a cute little warning.
