Let's not fool ourselves. Biden became the nominee in order to frame Trump for investigating a political opponent (ironic I know). Biden knew better than to run, but he was dragged into the race when Burisma became a thing, which was then used for impeachment. Kamasutra Harris is the VP pick, which means if they won, she would become the president. The democrat vote is for the VP, not for Biden. Biden won't last with his mental deterioration. It was evident during the later Obama years, and it's only getting worse.
That's simply not true. I was speaking to a friend yesterday who was literally explaining how dependent he is on the drug... how he has smoked too much and has a really hard time without it.
People become dependent on it, end of story. And yes you're right that psychological dependence shouldn't be the reason for banning a substance. Let's not over-simplify the issue.
But there are studies that back me up, like the New Zealand studty showing heavy smokers in teens led to an average loss of 8 IQ points by 38. Was it the drug or the type of people attracted to the drug? It has also been shown to lead to paranoia, and schizophrenia. It's a gateway drug. Is that the drug or the people attracted to the drug? Would that go away with legalization?
"Marijuana use can lead to the development of a substance use disorder, a medical illness in which the person is unable to stop using even though it's causing health and social problems in their life. Severe substance use disorders are also known as addiction. Research suggests that between 9 and 30 percent of those who use marijuana may develop some degree of marijuana use disorder.25 People who begin using marijuana before age 18 are four to seven times more likely than adults to develop a marijuana use disorder."

These are all appropriate discussions to have. I can't stress enough how much I'm against incarceration for minor offenses like marijuana possession. That does more harm than the drug itself. I'm just not a fan of legalization either, at least right now i'm not...
Millions of people don't function just fine either. It is very similar to alcohol in that respect. I mean we can extend this argument to cocaine and heroin as well. How "libertarian" are you?
I think you're lying to yourself if you believe people aren't developing dependencies to marijuana.
Like I said, I'm torn on the issue, but we shouldn't pretend it's harmless. And that's the most frustrating thing about it, as soon as anyone speaks negatively about weed, it's like the sky falling. A swarm of users show up pretending it has no negative impact on their lives (or anyone else).
I don't think it's outdated necessarily. I think the issue is our younger generation has been brainwashed to think weed is some harmless mircacle drug.
Having said that, if you want to get addicted to marijuana (yes I said addicted), that's on you. It's a shame and I know first hand the big weed smokers I knew from High School and College for the most part haven't amounted to much.
Whether that's a symptom of the drug or the type of person attracted to the drug, I don't know. (And I'm very aware this an unpopular opinion). So I'm pretty torn on the issue. I don't like encouraging the use of mind-altering drugs, and whether we admit it or not, legalizing weed on a federal level does exactly that. At the same time, I don't like seeing it ruin people's lives by incarceration.
edit: Are we reddit now? Voting based on agreement rather than discussion?

I've been called a right wing racist since 2004 for support the president at the time, George W. Bush.
Anything right of Democrat is "right wing," and these days, "far right." All Democrats/leftists know how to do is label people. We're racists or xxxphobe, misogynists, etc. It's to a point now where after being called everything under the sun without basis the words have no meaning besides to help chicken tendie leftists feel better about their miserable reality..
It was remarkable watching all of this unfold. It started with algorithm changes to keep the_donald off the front page. Then it moved to removing the_donald from /r/all. Then it got worse and worse. Posting on the_donald equated to automatic bans from other subreddits. I remember posting that the_donald would be outright banned prior to the 2020 election, and reddit users told me I was crazy.
I was hesitant about this site because I didn't believe it would succeed. My largest disappointment is the_donald redpilled a lot of average reddit users, and now we don't have that influence on their site.
All things considered, thanks you mods for putting in so much time and effort keeping this community alive.
