I had this argument last week. I know the basics behind the change in postmaster general. Said this to a guy last week who posted a meme about DeJoy being corrupt.
"Wait. You mean hiring former postal clerks as postmaster general has been such a success? Weren't we talking about the pending failure of the postal service a couple of years ago.
The previous postmaster general retired and a board of governors (not trump) appointed this guy as postmaster general. DeJoy spent his entire career in logistics and sold his transportation company for $615 million dollars. He is likely the most qualified postmaster in decades. Either orange man is a retard or he's a political genius. Pick one or the other. Cant play both sides.
Oh and another point. You want to talk about conflicts of interest? What kind of conflict is it to the taxpayers of this country where you have former postal employees as the Postmaster General who likely directly decide what their pay rate is, how hard they have to work, and their retirement and benefits packages. That sounds like a conflict of interest directly against the taxpayers of this country.
The USPS lost 3.9 BILLION dollars in 2018 by subsidizing cheap shipping for companies like amazon. Companies such as UPS made 71 BILLION on profit in 2018. How can the USPs not manage to make up a 4 billion dollar gap when private companies are profiting 10x that."

3 days later. Cuomo is found to have ventilators in storage awaiting deployment. "Yeah dummy, they are here awaiting deployment. This is normal."
