FULL QUOTE WITH CONTEXT:

Q: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

JUSTICE GINSBURG: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

FAKE NEWS:

the cognitive dissonance is reaching the event horizon. she defines civilians with AR 15s but what is her 'group'? strange way to categorize the situation, considering the movement shes trying to defend has killed how many hundred civilians?

its not like the marxist literature... civilians are the country. they will fight to protect it from all invaders, foreign and domestic.

i've had this argument IRL. the presupposition that keeps people from making progress is a two fold. 1, that doctors have crafted a hormone that has no side effects. 2, that the hormone effects everyone the same. If you find yourself in this conversation bring up birth control and how well thats worked... multiple types, strengths, all for the same thing.

helps to actually see percentage complete; which is arguably the only count that matters. in my opinion, since we know how long the border is we should be counting down until the wall is complete.

how many miles completed is only a good metric if there was a measurement standard that was being exceeded.

kinda like covid19 cases. the case count only matters when correlated with the death rate to find the lethality of the virus.

I want to know how much is left. we should be doing a count down not a count up.

that was a deliberate push. the new metaphor is a salad. all together but each individual and unique. as we can see, that hasnt worked out so well.
