Wasn't this original thread about making it mandatory in every public area? I would say that is a little more than a trivial irritation. A pimple, or a mosquito bite is a trivial irritation. Having to breathe through a mask that will irrefutably become coated with more and germs with every breath that could very well make you more sick? Not so much.

Impose sanctions on the many to possibly save a few, you'll be needing a virus a lot deadlier than this one for people to jump on that ship.

There's always an alternative, but the risk vs reward must be weighed by the individual.

And there lies the crux of our debate, the fact that you believe it is a health emergency real enough to warrant these masks while the vast majority of users on this site believe it is not. There's no point in discussing if we aren't on the same page regarding that point. The real problem is a select few elite people in power get to make our decisions for us and most people are just used to accepting these commands and blindly follow.

Why does it matter where they came from? You can manipulate and test all you want to make it look like those masks can cure cancer but that still doesn't mean you have a right to force people to wear them. We've never been forced to wear masks for any outbreak in the past, why start now. I've personally known people who have contracted the disease and are now fully recovered.

Stop being paranoid about a virus that is no more fatal than influenza. Diseases don't stop because of a fucking mask, so you can wear one if you want but as soon as you make someone else wear it and impose your misguided beliefs onto them there's going to be a fucking problem.
