It seems to me there has been a quiet admission by the medical community that ventilating people was a bad idea. I can't remember where I saw it but the survival rates for people ventilated was appallingly low.

My parents had it in February. My dad was pretty ill - he had to come home from work early - very very unusual for him. He was bedridden for a few days - he was out of it from fever and complained his legs hurt. My mum had it to. She was bedridden for a day. Very unusual for her to.

I just kind of felt off colour for a few days. I've felt worse from not eating enough fibre with a big meal to be honest.

My dad said it was nowhere near as bad as the Measles or the Hong Kong flu. He said Aussie flu was worse for him. My mum said the chickenpox and Aussie flu was worse for her. My parents are both in their 60's.

I don't know what to make of it - are they stupid or are they just being paid or blackmailed to push an agenda? The contrast in scientists pushing mask and lockdown ideology and those who have called bullshit on it is astounding to me. One of the scientists behind the great Barrington declaration has faced endless abuse for her position where as she says very calmly she welcomes criticism of her findings.

I've heard "science is fact" as an argument numerous times - I don't even know where to start with all the ways that statement is stupid.

I'm an engineer not a scientist but I have looked into it extensively as time has permitted since it started and kept track of the data on my own spreadsheets and it was very apparent to me from what I did know that masks with typical use were unlikely to work and lockdowns would at best maybe just delay the inevitable death toll and cause far more from collateral damage. The experience of Sweden vs my native UK which had opposite policies has been telling. Yet these scientists are still pushing this.

I have faced nothing but scorn and ridicule online from other supposedly intelligent people. It has been incredibly demoralising. Many of the boomers who seem to have swallowed the narrative entirely probably had the Hong Kong flu as children - a far more dangerous disease than this is. Luckily for them and their futures our leaders decided not to act hysterically. Not wanting to engage in hysteria is now a partisan issue apparently.

It's not that the lie has to be believable it's about humiliating people to go along with the lie. Kind of how in 1984 the party would change policy from being at war with Eurasia to East Asia at random and everyone had to go along with it.

Same thing here in the UK. Some places in London there can be lines at the polling stations in the evening. Generally there is no wait. Paper ballots. In my last job I actually worked at a polling station for the European elections. I also worked at one of the constituency counting stations bringing the ballot boxes for counting.

We do have mail in voting in the UK but most of the places its a thing - there is evidence its being used for corrupt purposes but the seats that have those issues are swamps in certain labour constituencies and that is more about internal power struggles in the labour party and local elections than anything else. Saddiq Khan in London got a foot in the door that way and saw off another Muslim who was seemingly more popular and far less sinister. It wouldn't really impact a general election all that much - labour already have a lot of the urban vote sewn up.

Canada just like here in the UK we have the healthcare system that we can afford. The NHS in the UK is OK for some things though realistically if you have cancer you are fucked unless its caught very early. As a young person in reasonable health who doesn't earn that much money I can live with that for what I pay - we have similar outcomes to the US in most areas except cancer but we only pay about 8% of our GDP on healthcare as opposed to the US that pays 17% - the US is a wealthier country with the worlds reserve currency.

In the UK we have a lot of private options. My parents have private healthcare cover from a provider called BUPA. It's very good. Many top tier employers provide it because they can get staff who are ill back to work faster without waiting lists.

That said - I don't know know how sustainable it will be going into the future. In 1947 when it was set up we had far more workers to dependants and treatments were simpler and cheaper. The typical costs to the system for most people is at the end of their lives. My grandma had cancer and she had a lot of treatment her last few months. My grandfather when he was also diagnosed with cancer chose palliative care for his last few weeks rather than drag it out for months.

I'm not Canadian but have visited numerous times - the greater Toronto area is a swamp - same with Vancouver. What few Canadians there are generally cucks. Western Canada is very independent. Eastern Canada has been on hard times economically for decades. They shut down the fishing grounds as far as my understanding a lot of Canada's sea freight comes in through Quebec instead of the Atlantic ports in the Maritimes because of decisions made by Pierre Trudeau. So they have been voting Liberal because they need the transfer payments paid for by Western Canada and its oil industry.

Fixed price contracting is what held rocket technology back so much - before SpaceX came along a lot of the booster designs hadn't changed all that much in decades. The thing was SpaceX hasn't even particularly innovated a massive amount - their people already had a lot of concepts that had been knocking around a long time. SpaceX just put them into action. A lot of those defence contractors could have done what they have decades ago if they had wanted but they had no motivation because of the pricing model.

I'd just post pictures of Christopher Columbus, Cortez, Magellan or Captain Cook and caption them "spiteful maladaptive mutants like you would never understand".

Some of what I have heard about the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 leads me to believe they deliberately allowed OBL to escape across the mountains. The US Marines were preparing to go up in Tora Bora on foot and the SAS was also in the country who have experience fighting in mountain conditions. Then all of a sudden Rumsfeld says "let the airforce do it" and by the time they actually got up into the mountains OBL and his followers had escaped and all these terrorist super bunkers the media had talked about were nowhere to be found.

Birmingham airport in the UK one of the shifts at least when my friend worked there was almost exclusively Pakistani. That's when they let all the shit get through. They used to take ££££ in order to look the other way on some things.

The first time i visited America in 2007 the TSA at New York (JFK) accused my dad of having a bomb detonator. It was this little gizmo you put a few AA batteries in and a connector for the power jack on a Nokia mobile phone. He had it just in case we got separated and his phone needed a charge. It took 15 minutes to clear it up.

Somalis are painful to deal with. I used to work at this block of flats doing refurbishments that was full of them. The one day one of them comes to our site office saying he wasn't satisfied with something - blah, blah, blah. Ordering us around. I told him he had to take his complaints up with his landlord (the housing association) he started the "I pay your wages" and I firmly put him right. He hadn't worked a day since he got to this country and if he didn't like it he could fuck off back to his (i then made some very disparaging comments about his country and the sexual habits of its people). He went ape shit and was basically foaming at the mouth trying to get into the office. He told me he was going to murder me when I went to my van that night. I said OK.

I basically walked to my van carrying a wrecking bar and my big hammer. I'm almost certain I was being watched from a bush that night. He complained and had me booted off that job site. I got re-assigned somewhere else. That place was full of them. I was utterly disgusted by them.

I had no idea TSA/DHS was supposed to be temporary.

I remember 9/11 very well but being younger and on the opposite side of the pond I only got a sort of filtered version of the hysteria that broke out afterwards.

I have noticed the pattern though. Nothing is more permanent than a government program as Milton Friedman said.

I don't get why it's such a thing in the US. Virtually no one is cut in Europe.

It's already to late for that mate - that said we're going to cause as much damage as possible on the way out. Brexit really cost the elites an awful lot of money.

I think the current Corona scam might well be the final nail in the coffin for the BBC. We have a well organised and funded campaign called "Abolish the BBC" and since all this hysteria has started hundreds of people every day are cancelling their TV licenses. At some point the BBC will be in serious trouble financially because they are like a bloated government department full of talentless leftists and diversity hires.

When I visit my dad we'll watch University Challenge in the evening but I haven't watched anything else since 2013. I tell him to stop watching that shite but he and my mother just sit there like zombies every evening while they fearmonger over Corona.

As a British male I very much agree with that assessment.

Honestly - nearly 99% of the women I know my own age are trash. Obese, promiscuous, entitled and suffering a severe case of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Very unfeminine. Insufferably left wing for the most part.

The BBC works a lot like a government department - it tends to be a certain kind of person who works there. University educated, generally middle class either metropolitan or from the commuter towns in the home counties. Pretty exclusively left wing. Lot's of "diversity" hires. Most of their best people got fed up of the place and were either forced out or retired.

Honestly the people who work at the BBC think where I come from which is only about 120 miles drive from London is the surface of the moon. When the Brexit campaign was happening they sent a reporter to the Weatherspoons (its a big pub chain here) in the city centre and they did this smug condescending report basically calling the people there uneducated bigoted morons. If they can't understand us it takes a special kind of arrogance to go to America and try to throw their weight around.

Yeah - think about where your mask is collecting bacteria from as well. Even those of us with good oral hygiene your mouth is the filthiest orifice in your body. You put that disgusting filth into your mask all day and then endlessly re-inhale it. Wearing a respirator when dealing with certain hazards is one thing but a virus with a similar lethality to the seasonal flu? It's stupid.

If Dominion deleted them can they be recovered? Is there a trail? We may end up in a situation where we have blatant evidence of fraud and the courts agree but no restitution and Biden still gets anointed!

Holy fucking shit dude - You know I have been on holiday to America several times. I went to the west coast in 2015 and I was disgusted by San Francisco. Most of the streets smelled like a toilet, there were pushy homeless people everywhere including one who threatened me when I was buying a bottle of water in a store one morning. I have never been to Portland or Seattle though. I just can't believe people like this actually exist.

Even after seeing the months of rioting in Portland and the mug shots of people who got arrested I still have trouble believing it. Where the fuck do these people come from? How can they have such delusion?

I used to be friends with this girl - she was from Melbourne and her parents are quite wealthy - her family has money going way back in the Netherlands from the colonial era. She grew up in one of the wealthiest suburbs of Melbourne and went to one of its most elite private schools and has enjoyed a globe trotting life style since she was 18 going all over the world. Daddy pays her rent and buys her a new SUV every few years. Then she starts lecturing me about my white male privilege. Here is me. Grew up in one of the worst areas of my country, went to a school that was to paraphrase Joe Biden a "racial jungle" where a lot of the kids couldn't read. I have worked since I was a teenager with not much to show for it and driving a rusty 17 year old Toyota hatchback. My family have fuck all money - most of us were trades people or engineers or coal miners. We're not friends anymore. Thank god. She had literally become a meme as well - lot's of promiscuity, got "alpha widowed" a few times. Spent years pining over them. Ended up having to date soy boys. Now she is obese and 30 something and complains about there being "no good men".

I have never really encountered the people you're talking about in real life. I did used to encounter them on the subreddit for my own country. Middle class university students from the south of England or a few other metropolitan areas who would cast themselves as paragons of the working class and young commissars despite the fact they had never worked in their lives. They would engage in the most crude stereotypes of working class people (most of which were comical and i suspect some were LARPing as brits) and then the next comment would literally be them crying that the working class wouldn't vote for them.

They talk endless smack about removing "nazis" who are really just normal blokes. I could literally go through a dozen of them without breaking a sweat

I understand Reddit used to be very libertarian and pro Ron Paul back when it got its start in the early 00's. Now the whole bloody site should basically be called the_hillary.

I think its just a comment on how worthless an "education" in the liberal arts is.
