Direct democracy in political science speak usually refers to Athenian democracy, where all citizens met at the local level and had a say. The franchise (who could vote) was generally all adult males born in the city who were not slaves.

The Founding Fathers were against this concept, for the reasons you mention but call "stakeholder capitalism." That is why they preferred representative democracy, namely voting for representatives with fixed terms. This was the Roman model in the its Republic.

I don't agree that one vote per household is inherently evil, btw. It was the system in place in Francoist Spain, which was one of the most successful modern states.

Regardless, I feel like most of these systems have failed. I recommend an interesting book called "Democracy: The God That Failed."

I haven't believed in (direct) democracy--the system that chose Barabbas over Jesus--for a long time.

Neither do I believe that representative democracy, aka "constitutional republic" works anymore, since the voting franchise was extended to everyone regardless of their standing in society, income tax was imposed, and senators began to be directly elected in 1912 I believe.

I'm essentially a monarchist; not the ceremonial Western European type, but as in a real one. As a secondary best, I support right-wing authoritarian regimes like Franco's Spain and Pinochet's Chile.

That's why I support Trump. He is someone who gets things done, doesn't give a darn about the elitists, and has firm control and leadership skills.

Unlike most people here, I don't think we're losing exclusively because of fraud (although it definitely does occur, more now so than ever). It's because every year, voters become more and more dumb and brainwashed. Not everyone should be allowed to vote. Sorry not sorry.

Nah, guys, I'm sorry to say I live in Northern Virginia, and it's not illegals voting or even citizen Hispanics that are causing Dems to win (my wife is a natural born citizen of Hispanic descent, and worked tirelessly to get family and friends to vote R).

The problem is threefold:

1. Black folk in rural areas and inner cities are still tied to the Democratic Party. That is thankfully lessening.
2. Liberal white males who feel guilty for being white and male are voting more and more "progressive."
3. Karens in the suburbs think Republicans are going to take away their right to murder babies and Trump is a mean old sexist.

I actually think we need to work on Black males and Hispanics of both sexes as our top strategy, along with appealing to college-educated white males to stop being ashamed of who they are.

I don't know if we can turn Karens around. I don't want to sound sexist (especially since white women like my mom, stepmom, aunts, and some cousins are awesome, and Hispanic women like my wife are often based), but suburban soccer mom Karens are perhaps too dumb to be persuaded... :-X No offense to suburban soccer moms who are conservative here, but I think you are outnumbered.

Nah, my stepkids' dad* is a faithful patriot who verbally advocates for Trump "despite" being Hispanic. His vote needs to count because he is putting his life on the line for us.

I started with Chivas Regal back in the day, then switched to single malt Scotch and was drinking Glenlivet 12. I like it. It's pretty good. I would occasionally buy 15 year, and one time, for a very special occasion, I bought 18 year. 18 year is absolutely freaking amazing, but I can't afford it.

Since the years have passed, they came out with this Glenlivet 14. I had never seen it before. Not sure what the difference is between 12, 14, and 15. Will have to read up on it.

I prefer McCallen (sp?) to Glenlivet, but too expensive as well...

When drinking Bourbon (which I drink straight up), I like Basil Hayden, Gentlemen Jack for when I just want something smooth, and heck, I even like Woodford Reserve. I've had some of the better brands, but lack of funds the past few years have kept me from trying them, and my wife's ban on me drinking liquor at home.

4chan is terrible. Here's why.

1. They have people that openly call themselves "BidenBros." Like, how the "f" can you be a Bro with a living corpse? I could see someone being a "HunterBro" if he is the type who likes prostitutes, crack, and pushing the limit with teen girls (!), but Pedo Joe doesn't look cool under any circumstances, especially when he wears those dumb aviator glasses.

2. They are full of anti-Jewish people. Look, I'm not pro-Israel like a lot of normie Republicans. I was "far-right" before the influx of normie Republicans that happened because of Trump. To be clear, I support Israel's right to exist, but I'm not cool with how they treat the Palestinians, how they intervene in Lebanon, their secret alliance with Saudi Arabia, and the fact that they spy on us, their "sugar daddy," more than any other country. Oh, and remember the USS Liberty. And remember the dancing Israelis on 9/11 (if you want to go down that rabbit hole, read Christopher Bollyn...)

When I say they are anti-Jewish, I mean they are anti-Jewish. They're not anti-Zionist like I am. Zionism is Marxism disguised as nationalism for Jews. It's atheistic, materialistic, utopian, and basically everything we hate about the left. Even the "conservative" Israelis cannot escape the Marxist foundation of their nation.

But the people on 4chan are straight up anti-Jewish (I don't like using the term anti-Semitic, since Arabs, Assyrians/Chaldeans, and Syriacs [aka Aramaic speakers; they still exist] are all Semites) and support Holocaust denial and make jokes about ovens and "muh six gorillion" and other stupid ass jokes.

3. They are racist toward Black people and call them n***s all the time. They call Hispanics "spics" and the like. They advocate openly for killing minorities in some cases. Meanwhile, here on T_D, I've had some debates with "race realists" and the like who are truly white supremacists, but at least they have been tame and logical, and proceeded politely. I like having my views challenged. But on 4chan, it's just namecalling and people wishing death on you.

4. They LARP like crazy.

5. They are full of incels. Look, I get that it's hard for single men who are not oversexed buffoons or rich to get women these days. I have friends who are essentially incels. But don't blame women and make them into stupid sex objects and advocate essentially kidnapping them and raping them like a Mongolian or Native American tribe back in the day.

I was watching NBC News with Lester Holt and company and besides having TD and other conservative sites on my computers, I had on NYT's needles for FL/NC/GA.

I found those leftist networks and sources far more reliable than FOX!

I mean, really? No longer any reason to pay any mind to FOX.

I'm watching NBC via YouTube livestream. Ever since they got rid of all the rapists and losers, and given that Rachel Maddow is quarantined on MSNBC, NBC News is super tame. Lester Holt seems lik ea nice dude, Savannah of course tried to upstage GEOTUS and got upstaged, but she is tame tonight, and Chuck Todd is a cool dude regardless of his views. NBC is mild and has nice graphics.

I'm on their website on one of my three laptops. They had a needle/dial like the NYT did in 2016. They had an overall dial, and then dials for every state. They had NC at 95% Biden. Then, it just...was greyed out, along with their overall tracker for Pres, Sen, and House, and GA, etc.
