No I know, my point was that he can obviously shut that shit down at a moment's notice. The fact that he doesn't (until literally forced to by the feds) is because he's complicit.

Edit: Re-read my last comment and realized how it might have been misinterpreted. When I said "them", I meant the rioters, not the feds.

Lol hey, I'm just sayin, for people who hate his guts, he sure was able to negotiate with the feds and get them to immediately back down pretty easily.

Staged for plausible deniability.

"Look, see? They hate me. Clearly I'm not controlling them!"

I wonder if that means that only income earned past $52,800 would be taxed, or if a family earning $52,801 would suddenly be on the hook to pay a 17% tax on that entire amount.

I don't mind the idea of paying taxes if I have a say in where it goes.

I don't want to pay taxes for programs that I'll never benefit from. If I could check a few boxes that say which buckets I want my taxes to be distributed, I'd be fine with that. For those who don't care or don't want to hassle with it, they could elect to just have their taxes distributed however the government decides.

This would have the added benefit of self-regulating tax funded programs. The annual budget would be determined by where people chose to allocate their taxes, not by corporate or lobbied interests.

That's what memes are doing. There's an art to taking an otherwise lengthy amd complicated idea, and condensing it down into an easily digestible visual.

I could have made this a text post with 5 paragraphs about how Democrats aren't democratic and how we can use their own linguistic revision against them, but this gets the point across better.

A picture is worth a thousand words, after all.

Didn't they replace Oliver with a female Arrow in the latest season? It was easily the best superhero show of them all in the earlier seasons, but I kinda lost interest after Malcolm left the show and Felicity had her season-long PMS.

When the media flipped from "it's just the flu bro, come on down to Chinese New Year, Trump is a xenophobe" to "this is literally going to end humanity, don't wear a mask though, Trump is a xenophobe"

To add to your edit, a recent statement from Portland Police stated that his injuries were non-life-threatening and that he is "recovering".

I'm not sure if that's based on location, but UPS and FedEx will not pickup packages here for free. Had a package delivered to someone who doesn't live at my address and they wanted to charge me $20 to pick it up. Still sitting on my counter...

It's not about him, it's about your own moral standing.

It's similar to how I don't give a shit about a CNN headquarters getting attacked by rioters, but I still oppose rioting and find the act to be abhorrent. My moral values don't change just because the abhorrent act is being committed against someone I don't like. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a sense of schadenfreude over CNN getting fucked over, but it would be hypocritical of me to celebrate rioting only when it serves my interests. That's exactly what we complain about them doing.

I'm not weeping for the criminal who died, I'm just annoyed at the double standard and seeming willingness for some of us to abandon our principles when it satisfies our base emotions. It suggests that we never had them to begin with, and I'd like to think we're better than that.

I like how they're embodying the exact thing they claim to be fighting.

This is all supposed to be about "police accountability", yet here they are on day 80, dozens on unjust deaths on their hands, countless injured, zero accountability.

Not to be a wet blanket, but anyone joking about this has no right to complain about the left celebrating Robert Trump's death.

This isn't a good look. It's been 1 day since we were all outraged over #Wrong Trump. Don't sink so low that you emulate those who you oppose.

Wiehe was also a member of the anti-semetic DNVP which played a crucial role in Hitler's rise to power. He's hardly an unbiased source and the rhetoric used in his writings make that plain.

We're not experiencing the same trends that Germany was experiencing during the Nazis' rise to power, we're witnessing the complete rejection of those trends throughout much of the western world.

The problem definitely stems from globalism and socialism, and the solution is nationalism and democracy. That was Germany's weakness. Focusing on Jews is a distraction. We just need to focus on dangerous ideas.

They view any member of the Trump family in the same way that we view RGB.

I'm sure they don't think her role in murdered babies warrants celebrating her death the same way we don't think being a relative of the greatest president in history warrants celebrating his death.

I guess my point is that it's all a matter of perspective. I think it's in poor taste to celebrate the loss of life. Even if it was a particularly shitty life, that just doesn't seem like a frame of mind I want for myself.

People here joke about RBG dying all the time. I'm sure her death will be celebrated here tbh.

I don't like it either, but it happens on both sides and it is what it is. I think we should all strive to be better humans.

I watched the episode, it's pretty damn tame. Girl has a crush on another girl and is too shy to ask her to prom. They end up doing a dance to defeat a monster at the end. It's whatever.

In general I think romance arcs in cartoons aimed at children are gross, but the primary audience is teens, where these feelings are budding and natural. Some teens are gay. This is fine IMO.
