The thing is, I don't even hate the idea of solar or other alternative energy. I think it's pretty cool and exciting technology. What I (and most here, probably) hate is the relentless virtue signaling about how it's saving the planet when it's not, or that fossil fuels need to be eradicated completely when that's obviously unrealistic due to the drawbacks of these other technologies.
I used to run ads for a few different solar companies and A/B tested targeting conservatives vs. liberals. The conservative group vastly outperformed. The left loves to virtue signal, but it's the right who are actually adopting the technology because solar panels can genuinely be profitable.
What is it with these people and womanifestos?
Pretending these pillows are going to be anything more than alibaba bulk stock mass produced in sweatshops, if they ever actually come to market (hint: they won't, this is just a scheme to capture emails) 😂
That's awesome if true. I'm only saying that we need to be careful.
I was one among the minority here who was very critical of Parler early on and got shut down because of Bongino's connection to it. Not even a week ago I had some guy lose his shit and go full internet rage mode on me for daring to criticize that they require a phone number at sign up.
Idk what it is, but a lot of folks here are so quick to have this black and white mentality. Either something is 100% trustworthy and we need to offer our lives and souls to the cause, or it's the literal rise of satan and we must eradicate it. And anyone who questions that consensus is a glowie shill. That's how thoughtful discussion and valid criticism get buried and why we've gotten royally fucked these past few months IMO.
That doesn't really say a whole lot about his character or trustworthiness. Just that he's got some good IT and business chops. I don't think Torba has said/done anything particularly worthy of criticism, but we should all remain skeptical nonetheless.
As a simple counterpoint, Bongino had some compelling things to say against Matze and in defense of Parler: https://rumble.com/vdkepn-ep.-1450-heres-the-real-parler-story-the-dan-bongino-show.html
That said, as much as I like the guy, Parler's Mercer funding and the lack of transperency hard to ignore.
I think the point is just to stop putting your faith in anyone who you can't personally vouch for, even the people who seem trustworthy. Which is kind of sad, but with how much we've been screwed over these past few months, is true.
He also joined YAF today: https://www.yaf.org/news/vice-president-mike-pence-joins-yaf-as-ronald-reagan-presidential-scholar/
It's not that it's not the way, it's that it's completely unrealistic and will never happen and is arguably unconstitutional. And the politicians who are proposing it know that, they just do it to make headlines and secure votes for their next elections.
Great, love it. Building on that, I think a lot of people don't really know where/how to start with that. I know there are some programs to help get young people involved in politics (YAF is doing something I think, I know there are others as well). We need to get more eyes on that kind of thing and help build out that network of support. Would love to see more initiatives like that stickied here.
It's not a good idea because we don't live in 1776 and the Americans of this era are fat, lazy, and scared. Revolution is an absolute last resort and we're nowhere near that point yet. We haven't even tried to do anything else.
We champion Project Veritas and Judicial Watch and then larp about taking up arms and putting everything they've accomplished in jeopardy. They're the ones who are actually enacting the Constitutional remedy for tyranny. Emulate them.
Wouldn't doubt if he did it specifically knowing something like this would happen so he could sue.
