I'm not sure what this all means, but flattening the curve does stretch out the timeline too. That's the whole point of social distancing. It's actually in our best interest to max out the number of available beds and available ventilators, and get the sick recovered (or dead) as soon as possible.

I have a daughter about to give birth to my first grandchild. They will be fine and the baby will be healthy, just as yours will be. Those things you list don't matter, so focus on what does.
