There are a couple of places recording deaths:
- https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
Select Brazil on either site and you'll see roughly the same data. Brazil has a population that is about 2/3 the size of the US, but deaths are 3x higher than the US right now.
My friends in Brazil are telling me that there are a least 3 strains of the virus running around, one of which has been pretty potent.
So the answer is both airborne droplets and surfaces, I assume.
What bothers me about posts like this is that it almost makes it sound like COVID-19 is not real. It's definitely real, and its far worse than the common cold. I've known people who got knocked off their butts for weeks in the hospital, some of which was on a ventilator. I've not seen a common cold do that.
But I do appreciate how it's over-hyped. The death toll is nowhere near the level the Fauci said it would be. Further, most of the people I know who got it just complained that it was like a really bad cold or flu for a week or so. Most lost their sense of smell and/or taste. Further, we know what most people will not die from this and that younger people who are not obese have nearly a 0 chance of dying from it.
I just wish we could all have an honest conversation. There's too much fearmongering on one side and too much dismissal on the other side. Reality is somewhere in the middle.
I don't know what's typical, but the CDC is reporting over 2700 just from the COVID-19 vaccine. On top of that, I'm hearing lots of reports of adverse reactions. I don't really know how to compare, but one thing that's important to understand is who is most at risk of dying. It's generally the obese and elderly, says the CDC. To their credit, the CDC makes that clear. The media, not wanting to fat shame anyone, downplays that fact.
Oh, I definitely think pushing experimental drugs that cause you body to produce proteins your body then attacks is not something a court could agree with being forced on a person. In fact, I could see this being argued as inhumane treatment. Humans are not supposed to be test subjects by force.
Of course I realize the immigration is different than before. However, since I'm not racist it doesn't matter to me. A steady influx of people, regardless of race, is fine, so long as they assimilate into the American culture. The real problem is a lack of assimilation and forming "groups" that oppose other groups.
The left does this in every possible way, including groups based on race, groups based on sex, groups based on sexual preference, groups based on sexual identity, etc. And they then go around bashing every other group. That's the problem this country faces.
Think about this a bit. If you think in-group preference is a problem, the reason for that is the fact that the left is forming these groups. Where I live, the county is about 20% black or so. People largely get along great. We also have a large Asian and Hispanic population. But every time I see strife and one group calling out another group for any reason, it's liberal ideologies at play.
There are not direct words, but there are words like in section K.5 where it makes it pretty clear that employers can require it and speaks of "qualification standard that includes 'a requirement that an individual shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of individuals in the workplace.'"
But this isn't even "replacement" migration. To say that kinda sounds white supremacist. The reality is, most of the people coming are good Christian people. Yeah, there are some rotten apples in the lot, but not most. What this migration does in the short-term, though, is kill blue collar jobs. It hurts the most vulnerable members of our American society. Knowing that and then listening to our politicians spew bullshit about the need to raise minimum wage just makes my head spin.
If we did not send our jobs to Mexico, China, or elsewhere and we didn't bust the knee cap of American workers by allowing cheaper labor to come flooding into the country, we would not have to have a law forcing a higher minimum wage. Trump had the unemployment rate so low that employers were starting to fight for better employees. People were starting to see hope with rising wages.
There is another longer-term reality that will hit America with all of this immigration. Those immigrants are going to keep black people in poverty. If I were a black man, I would be up in arms about this. I have witnessed the effects even in my local community. Jobs that used to be held by black folks where I live are now held by Hispanic immigrants. I cannot say if they are legal or not, but they were clearly first-generation immigrants as it's obvious English is not their native language. Whole businesses in my area have switched from hiring black people to predominantly hiring Hispanic immigrants, including fast food, landscaping, painting, etc.
I'm not at all opposed to immigrants coming into America. I don't think most Trump supporters are. However, we cannot do it at the detriment of American citizens. And that is exactly what is happening. We are sending jobs out of the country, pushing wages down on the low-end with illegal immigrants, and eroding jobs with technology like this new robot will be doing.
The CDC doesn't control those rules. Here's another reference where the government says that employers can require vaccination: https://www.eeoc.gov/wysk/what-you-should-know-about-covid-19-and-ada-rehabilitation-act-and-other-eeo-laws#K
However, the original question of liability still stands. Somebody should be held liable for short- and long-term side effects. Given that this is an experimental "vaccine" that has not completed clinical trials, it should not be made mandatory. It's just plain foolish. If I were in a risk group that was likely to die from COVID-19 if contracted, I might take it. Since I'm not, I just do not see the upside given that we're seeing so many people die or have other adverse effects. COVID-19 has killed 0.17% of the US population. Meanwhile, 0,004% who have been given the vaccine have died shortly after. I don't know how many other shots have this kind of record, but it sure as hell doesn't sounds good. As of today, here are 2,794 people who have died after getting the vaccine. Coincidence? Maybe. Seems like a lot of coincidence to me. And there are far more who have had some horrible side effects.
From that page:
Serious adverse events and medically attended adverse events will be recorded for the entire study duration of 2 years.
They hate it when you point out they are studying this for 2 years. They will argue with me against the company's own web site. Pfizer's site had a similar statement.
Don't hold cash too much cash; buy stocks. If the market does not rise, we're all going to be eating dirt. If you're not invested in good stocks in the stock market, you just see your savings erode.
I did not understand this concept for the longest tome. I had a colleague tell me once, "Putting money in a savings account is the slowest way to go broke." I get it now. He was totally right.
I said that on nextdoor.com. I even pointed to the Pfizer study on their web site showing the current status of the trials. In there, it said they needed about two years to collect all of the data. I was accused of spreading misinformation and my post was censored (i.e., removed). I literally linked to the authoritative source!
Some people are totally brainwashed. I have a lot of scientists that live near me and suddenly they're all experts in mRNA sequences that instruct your cells in how to create proteins that your body then attacks. None can suggest how we can use that to cure cancer, though. I'll venture to guess they understand this less than they claim they do.
I, too, am waiting for clinical trials. What I know is that, based on risk factors, I'm at a pretty low risk of dying from this virus.
Them: "But you'll kill old people!" Me: "Yeah? They didn't get a vaccine?"
I then get called selfish or an idiot or uninformed or something. We live in sad times.
When NC passed its voter ID law and Democrats were arguing people could not go the DMV to get one, I replied by making an offer to drive ANY person who cannot get one -- at no cost -- to the DMV.
As you can imagine, they then started producing a series of other excuses like saying they cannot get a birth certificate because they were born in a land far, far away and there's no way to get one, or their may not be a birth certificate because a courthouse burned down, etc. Seriously, they are crazy. In the span of four years, I am certain every person who cares can figure out how to get the required documentation. And if they cannot afford it or cannot get somewhere, I am certain there are people like me willing to lend a hand.
I've had several in my extended family get it. In two cases, the whole family caught it. I'm not saying that Fauci hasn't lied. He clearly has. And this is why I said the truth is somewhere in the middle. It's definitely more deadly than the common cold, but it's no as deadly as initially advertised. I, too, am frustrated that we cannot get a straight answer about masks and a recognition by the left about the fact that teens have nearly a 0% chance of dying and most people who do die from it are either really old or fat. I do not like people pushing vaccines and calling them safe when we're seeing people drop dead from them or develop adverse reactions, including swelling, numbness, etc. The vaccines are experimental at best. They're still collecting data. The population is one big experiment.
All that said, don't be an idiot and pretend this virus doesn't kill, because it most certainly does. You can ignore the numbers, but the deaths are very real. Brazil is a pretty based country with a based president. I get it that you're not concerned about the rest of the world, but it's important to recognize that this is not just a US issue and it is NOT just the US MSM lying to you. This is a real problem globally.
What you need to be mad about is how the media is making this a political issue. Rather than call me or you an anti-vaxer, they need to recognize that a lot of people are dying mysteriously after getting the shot. They need to come out and tell fat people, "Hey, the CDC says you're likely to die more than others. Maybe you need to lose some weight." They're still suggesting that black people are affected by this more than other races, ignoring why. It's not killing Nigerians. So, why is it killing African Americans more? Likely weight. I cannot say with certainty, but I'll bet our government could show the stats, but they do not. I have to guess that it's obesity since they have admitted that odds of death do increase with BMI numbers.
