It took a long time to make the conservative movement more palatable to the masses. The Democrats' narrative as the party of the working class only crumbled when Trump came along.
Without Trump, I don't there would've been a MAGA movement tbh. He's a business guy. He took what was foundational to the conservative movement and issues outside of what was traditionally conservative and marketed it as an America First agenda.
