These anecdotal stories from Patriots across the pond always choke me up. My mother was born in Germany and and died there was I was a teenager. I used to spend my summers just outside Frankfurt with her in the 90’s. It was the first country outside the US I’d ever been to and I have so many great memories of German culture and it’s people. I went to Berlin a few years ago after not having been to Germany in decades and I couldn’t believe how shameful they were of being German. Don’t ever be ashamed of events you had no part in. It’s no worse than American liberals and their obsession with slavery reparations.
