The debates should still happen, however not with a Democrat. What's the best case scenario?
This would give the states an equitable level of power to when the power to select Senators was taken away. These would kind of be special Conventitons, not something that would change any "current" legislation.
Just know this is also my 15/15 scraping the bottom of the barrel of things that can be done at the DC level today to effect massive useful change. What is your own "bottom of the barrel" idea?
