It was at 41 up votes and I ruined it. Sorry.

Each of my children got a new Bible this Easter. I explained to them that we live in one of the only places on earth where they could be given such a thing without direct threat to our lives.

Recall how Pompeo put religious freedom first and foremost on all foreign policy. Not only a right thing to do, but a great way to determine true friends from adversaries.

Probably should have titled this better ("Twitter is Safe Now!" or something).

My thought was, is it true that "great conversations can happen" "when everyone feels safe?"

Once this feeling of "everyone feels safe" is accomplished, the pattern seems to be that it's value becomes more than that of any individual. To me, this simple email from them perfectly explains how to turn any group whatsoever into what Twitter has become today.

I took this email a few ways (in addition to the initial view that inspires said shaking).

We're a population so accustomed to these security measures that we identify them as being security measures unquestioningly. From picking up stuff at Lowe's to getting carded at Walmart, whatever it is, Americans (I would think) already know deep down that people who oppose these very things when it comes to our elections are absolutely full of it. It's an argument based purely in accusation (i.e., that secure elections are racist, of course).

Is being carded for alcohol, lottery tickets, or cigarettes racist? What about biometric scanners? What about pin codes, etc. on our personal or work devices?

Maybe get legal advise on how to maintain records of your upstanding conduct, lessons, and conversations. Be demonstrably beyond reproach for your own sake because those "peers" will absolutely act faithfully to the character you anticipate from them, not to mention the students who might set out to ruin you in ways faculty and admins wouldn't be able.

Seriously hope you're not alone and that your spouse (if you have one) is on board for this wild ride!

I have a government issued ID so this obviously has no impact on me.

Besides, if it says "Made in China," I know with full confidence that all research and development for that product was done with painstaking pride in the USA.

But seriously, and to your point, some of the lumber I've purchased recently ($$$!!!) came with a "Made in Taiwan" sticker on it. Don't ever recall seeing that before. Guess they stayed open over there? (And yes, that plywood was a Home Depot purchase.)

But it gets even worse.

Not one, but TWO elderly mixed couples were witnessed on the premises during this very pickup. Authorities should have been notified of these bigots (both male, of course) and their unwitting s3x slav3 "spouses."

Who cares about elections compared to that?! I almost didn't even want my new toilet seats after seeing this. The world is truly coming down...
