The quicker more pedes realize that you can and should call out anyone who blathers on about white privilege as a white supremacist, the better. The argument that white supremacy doesn't exist isn't the argument, its that its alive and well in anyone who believes in the privilege doctrine.
Its actually ridiculous how much lack of self-awareness the ctrl-left have.
I would've preferred a clearer and lesss controversial answer in this case certainly... but I can also see the strategy in what he did. We all know he's already condemned it in the past, so let's look at the possibilities here.
First. I think part of it is not giving into the bullying. Giving into the "SAY THE THING BIGOT" mentality... even if you agree... automatically puts you in a submissive position. He's trying to look like a tough leader.
Secondly. No matter what, the media won't be rational about it so why bother? If he condemns white supremacists, the media will go down a laundry list of so-called white supremacists and ask for more condemnation or call him a liar because "if he condemns white supremacy why are his voters mostly white" or "why did he defund crtical race theory" or any number of asinine headlines.
Thirdly... theres three debates. He has time to "backtrack". While all these outlets are losing their mind, he gets to use their outrage against them later and point out that he labeled the KKK a terrorist org and condemned certain people and groups in the past... making the fake news look its fakist, likely during the third debate where there'll be the most viewership, and Joe wouldve used all his talking points long ago.
I feel this was a move to let everybody blow their good stuff while he loads a Trump card.
In the end though, personally I would've rather seen an answer less vague or flippant, just for the sake of keeping those on the fence more at ease, and keeping his voter base out of harms wat.. but in the end if you're still a fencesitter at this point it doesn't really matter.
Unpopular opinion... they actually want Trump to win as an excuse to continue their violence. Remember the projection. They keep pushing mail-in ballots under the guise of covid, keep saying "Trump won't leave"... despite the fact Trump and MAGA folks bring up the obvious fraud opportunities... they'll just flip it and claim Trump rigged the election.
Everything they do, they blame Trump for... this is one of them. That's why they put Joe in.. they know he'll lose...
You mean 60's music?
It's also a low-key dig at the poor.
Historically speaking possessing spices to flavor and preserve food was for the wealthy due to their exotic nature. In fact demand for spice drove economies in such a way you could almost argue white people's demand for flavor drove some of the more barbaric aspects of regular society...
So ignoring the fact white culture's food is actually way broader than it's suggesting... it's also just saying "Haha, you couldn't afford the good shit!"
This is way more nuanced than the title would suggest.
"Prosecutors said that seven months before that post, Gedlu had been across the street from The Adolphus hotel in downtown Dallas, where Trump attended a fundraiser on May 31, 2018. Half an hour before the president’s arrival, police detained Gedlu, who was yelling “Kill the president” and holding a sign that said “Kill Trump,” authorities said."
Saying that this arrest was purely due to a YouTube comment is missing the mark. Celebrating the arrest of someone with dumb youtube comments alone would be a bad road to go down.
